Two Pipestone Area Schools’ junior golfers received all-Big South Conference honors based on their performances from regular-season meets this season. Vivian Brockberg and Matt DeBates were so honored. “Vivian getting all-conference was great to see,” PAS girls coach Grant Everson said. “It was a goal she had coming into this year because of how close she was last year. Cold, harsh winds raged at more than 30 mph last Friday in southwest Minnesota. In the end, Edgerton/Southwest Minnesota Christian handled the conditions better than Pipestone Area Schools in a 22-9 victory at A’s/City Field. WORTHINGTON — The Pipestone Area Schools boys and girls track and field teams wrapped up the regular season on Tuesday, May 13, at Worthington High School’s Trojan Relays. Pipestone Family Aquatic Center has announced there will be newly designed pool passes this year. These passes are available to be picked up at the Ewert Recreation Center in downtown Pipestone. The pool is reportedly set to open on Wednesday, June 4, per the Pipestone Parks and Recreation Department. Pipestone Area Schools once again is offering a middle school acceleration program set to begin on Tuesday, June 11. This is run through the Pipestone County Medical Center & Family Clinic, affiliated with Avera, with a cost of per child. The program is for student-athletes entering fifth and sixth grade, and will focus on plyometrics, running and strength training — in an effort to create a foundation for future success in sports.
