Two men are dead and another was critically wounded in a shooting last night in the Hill District. Police say ShotSpotter picked up 11 rounds fired a few minutes before 11 p.m. in the 22-hundred block of Webster Avenue. Officers found one of the men dead at the scene. He'd been shot in the head and neck area. The other men arrived at a hospital a short time later. One of them was pronounced dead and the other is in critical condition. 

Federal and state leaders will be in Shanksville today for the 22nd observance of the September 11th attacks. NewsRadio KDKA's Shelby Cassesse has the story:

[This is Governor Josh Shapiro's first 9/11 commemoration in the state's top office. He'll be at the Flight 93 Memorial - remembering the United flight believed to be headed for Washington DC before passengers and crew thwarted the attack and caused the plane to crash in Somerset County. 

Monday's events at the Flight 93 Memorial include a moment of remembrance, where the names of passengers and crew are read aloud. There is also a wreath laying ceremony. ]

The Democratic candidate for Allegheny County District Attorney is denouncing a decision made by a district judge. NewsRadio KDKA's Rob Taylor has the story: 27 year old Yan Carlos Cepeda of New York was arrested on August 31st at the Greyhound Bus Station Downtown for allegedly having 450,000 doses of fentanyl in his backpack and luggage. One day later, magistrate judge Xander Orenstein released him on nonmonetary bond. That decision doesn't sit well with former Allegheny County public defender and current DA candidate Matt Dugan. Dugan was a guest on the Big K Morning Show. Current DA Stephen Zappala wants a common pleas judge to set bail for Cepeda. RT NR KDKA.

Allegheny County Police say a 48-year-old man was killed in a late night shooting in McKeesport. Officers sent to a home in the 18-hundred block of Flagler Street around 10:15 p.m. found Reginald Hall inside the residence. He'd been shot several times and was rushed to a hospital and died a short time later. County Police have arrested 53-year-old Jeffrey Robinson, who is now at the Allegheny County Jail.

The largest Labor Day Parade in the country is underway in Downtown Pittsburgh. Parade chairman this year is Steve Mazza with the Carpenters Union. He told Larry and Marty on the Big K Morning Show he's seeing an increase in membership and union strength. He's expecting between 50 and 100-thousand people to be Downtown for the parade.

A young man is dead after a late night shooting in a Downtown trouble spot near Strawberry Way. NewsRadio KDKA's Rob Taylor has details:

[Pittsburgh Police rushed to Smithfield Street near 6th street around 1035 last night after hearing shots fired in that area. There they found three victims, all adults, with gunshot wounds, one man was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. Police spokesperson Cara Cruz discussed the conditions of the other two victims. Police say one person was detained for questioning, they're unsure if there were one or two people responsible.]

Several fire companies responded after a fire broke out at a popular banquet hall in Cheswick last night. NewsRadio KDKA's Andrew Limberg has the story.

Flames at the Hamar house broke out around 7:20 p.m. The fire marshal told owner Nick Futules its believes towels caught fire while in the laundry. Futules tells The Big K Morning Show there's 2 to 3 million dollars worth of damage.

Nine people in apartments there were displaced as well. Futules is still figuring out his insurance and doesn't know if he'll be able to rebuild.

Idalia made landfall a few minutes before 8 a.m. near Keaton Beach, Florida as a slightly weaker Category 3 hurricane with 120 mile per hour winds. 

Pittsburghers are among those in Florida dealing with the hurricane's effects. NewsRadio KDKA's Shelby Cassesse has details:
