It's happened again, another gun found by TSA officers at Pittsburgh International Airport. Officials say Jamal Pittman of Missisipi had a loaded 9 milimiter handgun in his carry on bag at the main checkpoint around 1 pm Thursday. He is being charged with carrying a firearm without a license. That's the 37th gun caught at the airport this year, a record number of guns caught at Pittsburgh International. 

Police in O'Hara Township have announced this morning that the reported child luring attempts yesterday afternoon were unfounded and that no child was harmed. O Hara police said after interviewing the children, the act was committed by 2 juveniles who they believe were quote, joking around and that there was no real intent to lure the children into a car. O hara police say the matter has been resolved and that no child was in imminent danger. 

Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro says he, like many others, are praying for loved ones after a surprise attack by Hamas on Israel. NewsRadio KDKA's Andrew Limberg has details.

Shapiro tells The Big K Morning Show, he is praying for his niece's and the countless others currently in Israel. While he says he hasn't seen the signs on campuses like Pitt and CMU seemly supporting Hamas, Shapiro has strong words for those protesters.

Over 1,200 people have died in Israel since the attack began on Saturday. Dozens of people have been taken hostage and there have been reports of beheadings of women and children.

A fight between five teens in Ross Township led to one of the teens being shot in the leg overnight. Police say they were called to the fight on 6th street around midnight. Eventually police were able to apprehend the four teens who fled following the shooting. The teen who was shot was transported to the hospital in stable condition. 

A man stabbed last night in Downtown Pittsburgh is facing charges. Police say 53-year-old Marvin Kennedy got into an argument with another man about alcohol near the Second Avenue Commons shelter around 8 p.m. Kennedy allegedly hit the man on the head with a vodka bottle and the other man stabbed him. Kennedy is facing aggravated assault and other charges. No word yet on any charges for the other guy. 

A truck collided head on with a train last night in the South Side Flats. Police believe the vehicle entered the railroad tracks at South 18th Street heading eastbound and collided with a westbound train. The truck was pushed to South 16th Street. The driver, in his late 60s, was taken to a hospital for evaluation in stable condition. CSX Police are investigating.

Two men were gunned down early this morning in the Hill District. ShotSpotter alerted police to 16 rounds fired around 3 a.m. in the area of Webster Avenue and Somers Street. One of the victims was wounded in the chest, taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. The other victim was shot in the head and died at the scene. The Medical Examiner's Office will release the names and ages of the victims.

A hateful retirement card for former Allegheny County Jail Warden Orlando Harper is producing outrage. County Council member Bethany Hallam recently posted images of the card on social media. One of the people who signed it wrote they hoped Harper gets "a painful, terminal illness." On the Big K Morning Show, Hallam defended the messages and the people who sent them: Hallam, a member of the county's Jail Oversight Board, was a harshly vocal critic of the warden and the facility alleging "horrible things" that happened there. 27 inmates died at the jail in five years but an independent report found no significant trends or common factors leading to the deaths.

The Medical Examiner's Office says a 59-year-old inmate at the Allegheny County Jail died after choking on a paper towel. Douglas Bonomo was found unresponsive July 23rd. The McKeesport man's death was ruled an accident. Bonomo was in the county jail’s mental health unit awaiting transfer to Torrance State Hospital. He was facing theft and other charges.

With the November 7th election a little more than one month away, KDKA-TV hosted a debate for Allegheny County chief executive last night featuring candidates Sara Innamorato and Joe Rockey. NewsRadio KDKA's Rob Taylor has the story: 

Both candidates faced questions including if the county should have a private company run the Shuman Juvenile Detention Center. Both candidates said it would be OK at least in the short term. On the issue of a county-wide tax reassessment, Innamorato supports it, but Rockey strongly opposes it. During their closing statements, Innamorato, who called herself a pragmatic progressive, said she's ready to go on Day 1.
