Pittsburgh Steelers Podcast | Steel City Underground

Joe Kuzma and Brian E. Roach convene as the Steelers skip past a lowly Cincinnati Bengals team with a 16-13 victory that was, unfortunately, not enough to keep their postseason hopes alive.

Part of those hopes lied with the Cleveland Browns, who had to defeat another division foe, the Baltimore Ravens. That did not happen, therefore that game is discussed, as well as the mood at Heinz Field, “firing” people within the Steelers organization, and yes, our favorite flavor of the month: the referees!

Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Trey Johnson returns for another edition of Trey’s Corner, as Trey joins Joe Kuzma to talk about Sunday's final regular season game between the Steelers and Bengals.

However, that’s not the only game the SCU team talks about, as the Steelers must rely on the Cleveland Browns to defeat the Baltimore Ravens in order for the Steelers postseason hopes to remain alive. Trey and Joe talk about the Browns chances before going fully optimistic on the Steelers ability to handle their own business against the Bengals.

Joe also remarks about past instances where the Steelers playoff hopes relied on other teams, and how those situations settled.

Festivus concludes with an unhappy ending as Joe Kuzma and Brian E. Roach breakdown the Pittsburgh Steelers 31-28 loss to the New Orleans Saints.

Headed into Sunday’s game, many Steelers “fans” didn’t think that Pittsburgh could overcome one of the NFL’s best teams, however, as Joe and Brian explain, it wasn’t just the Saints that the Steelers were up against.

Yes, the word “homer” will get thrown around some more, as well as some local dignitaries whom also fall under that umbrella for calling out questionable and impactful calls, but he hosts also dig deeper to explain how the Steelers have put themselves in this position, and how they could’ve avoided a loss in Sunday’s game… as well as a tiny bright light at the end of the tunnel that could signal that their 2018 season isn’t entirely over with just yet.

Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Trey Johnson returns for another edition of Trey’s Corner, as Trey joins Joe Kuzma to talk about Sunday's game between the Steelers and Saints.

Following a huge win at home over the New England Patriots last week, the hosts reflect on what changes were part of that success and if those elements carry over into this weekend’s road game at the noisy and disruptive Mercedes Benz Superdome.

With erratic play in mind for both teams, can the Steelers stay consistent enough to steal a win on the road?

Joe Kuzma and Zach Metkler return in this week’s edition of the Daily Steelers Grind, where the two hosts are on a search for all of the missing Mike Tomlin haters this week.

Where did they go?

Truthfully, despite the Pittsburgh Steelers huge win over the New England Patriots on Sunday, some of them are still out there!

But should people be calling for Tomlin’s job? And did they do the same when Bill Cowher was the head coach, despite similar, if not lesser success?

Joe and Zach dive into the discussion with talks about “talented teams” and which current NFL head coaches would you legitimately want in Tomlin’s place. They’ll also address the success, and failure, of coaches in the Hall of Fame as well as talk about the adjustments Tomlin’s staff made in order to defeat the Tom Brady and Bill Belichick.

Brian is joined by Noah Freeman as they review the Pittsburgh Steelers nail-biting victory over the New England Patriots.

It wasn't perfect, and it wasn't always pretty, but the Steelers much-maligned defense put on a "Grown Ass Man" performance.

Brian and Noah look at the game and then welcome special call-in guest Joe Kuzma as he rejoices in the after-glow of the victory.
