Pixel Lit

The last third of this adventure seemingly is more of an adventure than the other two thirds of the book, but it's way too little too late for Max Brook's vision of Minecraft. We will probably get around to reading the other parts of this thrillogy at some point though to see where it leads.

Washed up on a beach, the lone castaway looks around the shore. Where am I? Who am I? And why is everything made of blocks? But there isn’t much time to soak up the sun. It’s getting dark, and there’s a strange new world to explore!

Okay this book mayyyy be one of the most boring that we have ever read? I'm not sure where it's going, there's not a TON of stuff happening, there's not a lot of drama that doesn't feel like all the tension has already been drained out of. I dunno. But hey Kevin learned a new word, Epistolary! So He's going to be using that more than he should over the next few weeks, look forward to THAT.

Look at us! Reading a book for those Gen Z cats! Or Gen Alpha? Anyway, we are reading Minecraft: The Island written by Max Brooks, author of World War Z. Also Kevin's daughter makes her official podcast debut to talk a little bit about the Minecraft, the game created by Hatsune Miku and continually developed by Mojang.

"Look Upon my Goo Ye Mighty and Despair!" - Percy Shelley, wrote this, I believe in his chart topping hit Ozymandias, which was about the Watchmen character of the same name. Very slick. Also what's slick? We got more Resident Evil Underworld for your ears, fresh and hot this week. HOT EAR WARNING.

Yeeah Kevin came out of the rail cannon on this one. This book actually affected his enjoyment of Metal Gear Solid. That's wild right?

Phil and Kevin dust off the cobwebs after a few weeks away from the recording booth to talk about the most boring possible recounting of this game humanly possible.
