Today’s song, “Who Am I” (voice of Truth) was written by Mark Hall.  He speaks to that question that many of us find ourselves asking at some point in our life - Who Am I, really?

In this podcast we are introduced to a super human villian named Bitt.  Bitt prides himself on his ability to hold many so called “Christians” captive and in chains that are seemingly unbreakable.  He also thinks he’s thrown away the key. But, as we’ll soon find out, these Christians have had the key within reach all along.  I guess all they really need to do now, is use it!

Today’s song is one you will want to look up and listen to in its entirety. After first hearing it at a funeral not too long ago, It has become the foundation for so many of my prayers and brings God’s power to those I am interceding for. It’s entitled “I Speak Jesus” and is performed by the group, Here Be Lions. The vocalist is Darlene Zschech.  It was written by Abby Benton/ Carlene Prince / Dustin Smith / Jesse Reeves / Kristen Dutton and Raina Pratt.

I want to give credit to this amazing group of people that wrote this song.  Such spiritual insight.  Thank you for collaborating and bringing such a powerful message to us today.

Today's podcast title is also the title of our Song for the day.  Of all the songs I’ve brought your way these past few months - I urge you to find this one on your Spotify, Apple music, or whatever it is you use, and listen to it.  The title is

Podcast #26 didn’t make it’s original scheduled release back in October of 2023.  In fact, there was no new release at all that week and for the next couple of weeks following. 

That’s because life stood still for my family, and many others, when an unexpected tragedy took place in our home town of Keene, Texas.  A young man, who has played an intricate role in our own family for more than 35 years, lost his life to depression. 

So now, many months later, this episode is dedicated to this most incredible husband, father, son, brother and friend. 

Outside of recognizing who God says YOU are, (something we talked about in the previous podcast), I’m just curious – Who do you say GOD Is?

In this podcast, we will step outside of ourselves and make it all about God and what we can discover about him.  After all, he is the one we can trust to set our life straight. And He is the one that we have trusted and will continue to trust, throughout the rest of our journey.

I've concluded that we all, at one time or another, question our own identity and who we really are.  That’s because, too often, we base our identity on who others say we are.  Over time we embrace that as truth and it becomes an identity that is now founded in who “we” say we are.  But truth is, there is only one person who holds the truth to our true identity.  Today, we’re going to explore together, who God says you are!

Even though I’ve been sharing bits of my story with you over this “songs for the journey” series, we’ve come to the episode where It’s time to share a more personal side to my story and where it has brought me today.

It is the heart of my journey and the part of my life that I "could" have looked back on and seen as waisted years.  At least, that's what most people think about God's waiting room.  But not me, not anymore at least.  It was in that place that I found a God who embodied the true meaning of Awesome.  (Which, by the way, is the name our song this next episode Is based on.)

I need to put a quick disclaimer on this episode though.  Most of these episodes have been kept to 15 min. or less.  Today’s however, is not going to be one of those.

Welcome back for the 2nd episode in a series of 6 entitled "Songs for the Journey".  Today we’re going to meet Jesus as our healer.  And of course, this episode, as with each one in this series, is based on a song that was significant in my own journey.  Today’s song is - Jesus, You Are My Healer by Don Moen and Paul Baloche.

I am reminded that Healing is not just for the physical. It is something we need in mind and spirit as well.  This kind of complete healing is the only kind that can truly set us free.
