Planet FPL - The Fantasy Football Podcast

Suj & James review all the weekend football in the Premier League and early thinking towards FPL's Gameweek 4 and it looks like many in the FPL community are activating Wildcards but neither Suj or James are planning to do so but can James, who has made a good start in FPL, negotiate problems that are about to hit his squad?

Lessons learned from the weekend are discussed, tactical insight, Heung-Min Son concerns, whether Cristiano Ronaldo should make an appearance in our teams immediately and there's debate about players at similar values such as Conor Gallagher vs Demarai Gray and Kai Havertz vs Mason Mount

James is joined by Manchester City fan Jonny Pringle and Arsenal fan Adam Pritchard to discuss their clubs ahead of Saturday's Gameweek 3 meeting between their clubs at The Etihad.

Recorded on Wednesday there's discussion on whether Harry Kane or Cristiano Ronaldo would be more suitable for City and what it would mean to City not to sign a forward before the window shuts - and then while recording was in progress Harry Kane sent a tweet!

Could Pierre Emerick Aubameyang solve City's striking issues?

What has Jonny made of Jack Grealish and City so far? Could Aymeric Laporte regain a regular starting place in the side? As ever rotation issues for FPL are discussed, but should it generally remain a watching brief on The Champions until Gameweek 7?

While at Arsenal it's been a dismal start with pressure already mounting on Mikel Arteta and Adam shares his thoughts on The Spaniards future, but following the trip to City there's a very attractive fixture run for The Gunners and FPL assets shouldn't neccessarily be dismissed just yet...

It's the final week before Overhaul in Sky Fantasy Football and the advice is to sit tight until the weekend has passed. With the transfer window still open & big transfers still likely Suj & James are trying to avoid thinking too far ahead.

Are Michail Antonio and Bruno Fernandes the obvious captaincy selections for the two gamedays days this weekend?

A host of Twitter questions answered, why rank shouldn't mean too much at this stage, pros and cons of our GW1 selections, if 'anything' could make us use a transfer this week, why two fixtures after Overhaul could still change date, attacking mids v defensive mids & and plenty more...

There is a potential problem on the horizon for FPL managers with current government legislation stating that individuals returning from red list countries must quarantine and with internationals following this weekend that means many star name could miss GW4 and possibly even GW5.

Suj & James investigate which players could be affected, if clubs can deny their players leaving for international duty and why there could yet be exemptions provided for players... but even if there are exemptions South American stars could still miss out...

Plus, last night's brilliant win for West Ham against Leicester is reviewed - is Antonio now the standout captaincy option in GW4?

On the first Clash of the Correspondents of the new season James is joined by Matt Samuel and Gary Robinson to preview Sunday's GW2 clash at St Mary's between Southampton & Man Utd.

Can the Saints stop leaking goals? Defensive issues remain a concern and it only adds to the appeal of United's Bruno Fernandes who is buzzing following an opening weekend hat-trick against Leeds. Is Bruno now the best captaincy option this weekend...?

Plus, there's a deeper dig into the squads...

Is 4.0 Valentino Livramento now the first choice Southampton right-back?

Can Adam Armstrong score enough goals to help push Saints up the table?

Are there rotation concerns ahead for the likes of Mason Greenwood?

And what now for Paul Pogba? Is he likely to stay part of an attacking front four for United?

Suj & James assess the fallout from their first weekend in Sky Fantasy Football, if there were any regrets from their opening selections and transfer/captaincy plans for the weekend.

Mo Salah to Heung-Min Son is looking a popular move on Sunday, will Suj & James be making the move.

Plus, replacements considered for Ilkay Gundogan and lessons learned from the opening weekend including some interesting notes on those that hit passing tiers, the problem with attacking enablers and why it's not worth ever engaging with the Sky Fantasy Football social media account...

On this Podcast, Suj & James take a more detailed look at defensive budget enablers in FPL following the opening Gameweek and ponder best options, not necessarily for now, but in the weeks to come as FPL managers may be looking for value to help fit an extra premium player in their teams.

There's an assessment of all the 4.0 defenders and two stand out as options to keep an eye on in the coming weeks and the 4.5 assets under consideration are discussed, but are there less players of interest than the original pricing had suggested there might be...?
