Planet FPL - The Fantasy Football Podcast

Suj & James kick off Day 6 of Correspondent Week by welcoming Norwich City Correspondent Mark Hammond to discuss The Canaries hopes of staying up and FPL enablers.

Norwich start with a brutal start of Liverpool, Man City, Leicester & Arsenal... surely we can't start with any of their FPL assets... well it takes Mark 5 minutes to get Suj & James very interested in one particular player and it becomes clear during the Podcast that there are a number of budget players who should be considered despite the daunting start and there is an encouraging run of fixtures after the difficult start.

Will The Canaries be better than their previous campaign in the Premier League? They might be, but will it be enough to survive?

And will Mark captain Mo Salah against The Canaries in GW1?

Is Yves Bissouma the stand out 4.5 midfielder?

There's discussion on 4.5s Adam Webster, Joel Veltman and if Lewis Dunk at 5.0 is worth paying extra for, what system Brighton are likely to deploy, if any of the attacking players are worth considering and new signing Enock Mwepu attracts comparisons with an FPL legend...

There's reflection of Roy Hodgson's spell at Selhurst and what can be expected tactically from Vieira and some exciting new signings.

It looks like a change of direction for Palace with high earners released and younger players purchased and there's some excitement and intrigue about what's to come - but can they overcome a horrible set of opening fixtures?

Likely starting line up, FPL enablers and of course the prospects of Wilfried Zaha all discussed...

Suj & James welcome Gary Robinson to discuss all things Manchester United including one the big FPL Community debates, Bruno or BruNO!?

Do United have good or bad opening fixtures? It depends how you look at it but it does influence the conclusion on whether Bruno Fernandes is or isn't worth 12.0 of our FPL money.

Luke Shaw is the second highest owned player in FPL, there's an assessment of why and if there are better 5.5 defender alternatives in the game and within the United squad itself.

Plus, who's going to start in goal, Jadon Sancho and Mason Greenwood's potential and Gary gives an emphatic answer on whether he thinks United can win the league...

Suj & James welcome new Southampton correspondent Matt Samuel on to the Podcast for episode 11 of Correspondent Week to discuss his club and there are concerns heading into the new season.

The Podcast was recorded prior to Danny Ings' stunning and shocking move to Aston Villa but as discussed on the show there was expectation from Matt that he could be leaving the club. Can Che Adams step up and fill the void or will Saints go into the transfer market and buy?

There's also speculation surrounding the futures of Jannik Vestergaard and James Ward-Prowse and off the back of a disastrous second half of the season and with a daunting opening set of opening fixtures there is concern that The Saints could quickly be dragged into a relegation battle.

Sounds grim, yet there could also be reasons to be positive too...

Day 4 of Correspondent Week begins with a focus on Suj's team as Suj & James welcome Chris Stone to discuss all things West Ham United.

There's an in-depth debate on West Ham's defensive assets and conclusions are drawn on who's best as an FPL asset between Aaron Cresswell (5.5), Vladimir Coufal (5.0) & Arthur Masuaku (4.5).

Will Alphonse Areola dislodge Lukasz Fabianski as the club's number one keeper?

Thomas Soucek has risen in price to 6.0, but focus on the Podcast is on two other midfield assets and with Jesse Lingard looking unlikely to return the lads ponder if Said Benrahma will improve on his first season and If Jarrod Bowen offers enough consistency to be an asset.

And of course, there's coverage of Michail Antonio, those thighs, speedos and if he should be in our FPL teams...

Day 3 of Correspondent Week is concluded with Leeds United fan Andy Martin who joins Suj & James to discuss a squad full of attractive FPL propositions with the majority of the squad underpriced in Andy's opinion.

Raphinha stands out at 6.5 but with Jack Harrison matching his point per game returns last season and cheaper at 6.0 is the Englishman being overlooked?

Should FPL managers being buying both!?

Or is there even better value in Stuart Dallas at 5.5 with a permanent move to midfield likely?

Plus views on the defensive assets, why Diego Llorente offers an alternative to Luke Ayling, prospects for new left-back Junior Firpo and could Rodrigo threaten Patrick Bamford's starting spot...?

On the latest Podcast on Correspondent Week Suj & James are joined by Adam Pritchard to discuss all things Arsenal ahead of the new season.

With Chelsea and Manchester City in the first three games, starting with Arsenal assets in FPL looks tricky but they shouldn't be overlooked with a brilliant run beginning from GW4.

Adam details the current likely starting selection for The Gunners at Brentford and why there are two players in particuLar he intends to start with from The Emirates.

Is Pierre Emerick Aubameyang one of them?

Is Nicolas Pepe finally going to step up and justify the price paid for him?

Does Adam have interest in The Gunners defensively?

Day 3 of Correspondent Week begins with Sean Norton joining Suj & James to discuss all things Everton ahead of their GW1 opener against Southampton.

The Pod begins by getting Sean's feelings on Carlo Ancelotti's departure and the arrival of Rafa Benitez, a man many Evertonians are already against due to his association with their Merseyside rivals.

With a brilliant fixture list to start the season, Sean gives his opinion on popular FPL options Lucas Digne and Dominic Calvert-Lewin, differential options, enablers and new signings, the 5.5 pair of Demarai Gray and Andros Townsend.
