My first guest on this podcast is Bevin Clare — clinical herbalist, nutritionist, educator, and president of the American Herbalist Guild, the largest body of professional clinical herbalists in the U.S.
Bevin teaches at the Maryland University of Integrative Health and the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy, holds a master’s in infectious disease from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, and founded the Herbal Clinic for All program, offering cost-free herbal healthcare since 2007.
In this conversation, Bevin shares the story of a defining moment in remote Myanmar in her early twenties — treating a critically ill child with nothing but herbal medicine because there was no hospital for miles — and how that experience turned her curiosity about plants into a lifelong vocation.
