"I am the resurrection and the life," Jesus said. Not just 'I give the resurection and the life,' but 'I am the personification of these things.' How could Jesus say that? And what does He mean by it? Listen in as we explore the answers.

Sheep and shepherds. It's one of the most common metaphors in the Bible. Not too flattering to us, you understand - we are the wandering, gullible sheep! But to think of the Lord Jesus as our shepherd, caring for our every need, is marvelous indeed. "When the righteous increase, the people rejoice."

Jesus called Himself the door of the sheep ... the one way of entry into God's sheepfold. But what else does the metaphor of the door teach us - about Jesus, and about ourselves? Listen in as we think it out together.

"He who follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life." That is a virtual quotation from the Old Testament. Find out which prophet Jesus is quoting, and why ... and what it means that Jesus came both to give, and to be, Light.

"I am the Bread of life" ... the very sustenance of your being, Jesus says. Another bold claim! But why did He say it? And what does He mean? How is Jesus like bread for our souls? Listen in as we think it through together.

Jesus was engaged in quite a quarrel in John chapter 8. Many of His countrymen were incredulous at the kinds of claims He was making: "If the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed." "Which one of you convicts Me of sin?" "If anyone keeps My word, he will never taste death," and so on. But He saved the grandest of His claims for last. So tall was the claim, in fact, that His oppoenets tried to stone Him for it. Listen in as we consider this greatest of all claims together, from John chapter 8.

How can a Christian be successful in 2013? We might do well to heed God's words to Joshua so long ago: "This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you will be careful to do according to all that is written in it; for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have success."
