In today's study, we answer a very specific set of questions that was sent by email from a faithful listener. The questions are regarding something I mentioned in an earlier episode with Bro. Devin Birdsong. The listener asked if we would weigh in and describe what the 4 things were that the Jews believed only the Messiah could do. We look at all 4 of these beliefs and explain what they are, why they believed only the Messiah could do them, and then we finish by showing how Jesus fulfilled them all.

In Today's study, we dig a little more into what James has to say regarding the tongue of man. We also examine what he has to say about wisdom, knowledge, righteousness, and how they come. There is a wisdom of this world, but it is earthly, sensual, and even devilish. James declares that wherever you find envy and strife, you will find confusion and every evil work. James tells us how we need the wisdom that comes from above. Which wisdom do you possess?

In today's study, we examine the deadliest weapon known by mankind. I feel certain that every person has been attacked by this weapon we speak of, which is better known as the tongue of man. James doesn't go easy on us concerning the way we use our tongues. He goes so far as to say that our tongues are set on fire of hell. Our whole discussion today is about this fiery member.

James speaks of justification through works, much to many scholars' chagrin. James tell us if we don't offend through our words, we are perfect, and therefore able also to bridle our whole body.

In today's study, we look into the argument James is famous for. He strongly promotes the belief that faith must have works that come with it, or it is not authentic faith. James uses several analogies to prove his point, and he concludes that if you don't have works with your faith, your faith is dead. He says that Abraham was justified by the work of offering Isaac on the altar, which is contrary to what many denominations today believe.

One of them has been left alone because of a lack of understanding, and the other has been left alone because it has been perceived as a Catholic doctrine. You might be wondering what I am talking about, so allow me to explain: The doctrine of the Incarnation has been left alone because of a lack of understanding of the term. The Virgin Birth has been avoided mainly because of the Catholic Church and their teachings regarding Mary. These brothers dive right in and make a case for why these doctrines are imperative for us to believe still yet today.

In today's episode, we continue looking at the scathing rebuke James gave to the rich people of his day. He reminds us of the Royal Law of loving our neighbors as ourselves. He then takes a few verses and expounds to us a great doctrinal approach to viewing the Law. One thing is for sure, James is a straight shooter, and he gets right to the point. He teaches us to go to the heart of a matter in order to deal with things the right way.
In our Q&A segment, we are asked this question: In Is. 53:3-5, we read where they hid their faces from the Suffering Servant... why would anyone hide their face from the Messiah?
