In today's installment of Systematic Theology, Bro Donnie and Bro Chris Lee finish their two-part study of the church. Today, they teach us what the purpose of the church is. They go over several well-known and established facets of this topic, but then they dive off into deeper waters. We quickly begin to see that there is much more to the church than a building, a few people, and a name on a sign out front. The purpose of the church should be known by all believers. We also believe that the purpose of the church should be made known to all unbelievers as well, because they are connected!

In today's episode, James continues his diatribe against the men of his day. He accuses them of condemning and killing just men, and then he warns them of the coming Day of the Lord. We know that the reference to the Day of the Lord is speaking of the Great Judgment, of which James says is drawing nigh. He tells us to not grudge one against the other, and the reason for this is that the Judge is standing before the door. He then speaks of endurance while reminding us of Job.

In today's episode, we answer a question that was sent in by a listener in Oklahoma. The question was posed: I have noticed several places within scripture where it says people rose early to do certain things, such as when Abraham rose early to sacrifice Isaac in Gen. 22, so what is the significance of them rising early? We take some time to go over this intriguing practice, while also unpacking several related things that go along with it. Is there anything to this practice, or is this just simply stating the obvious here? We will look into these questions and much more as well.

In today's episode, we learn what sins of omission are, and then we go into chapter 5 and quickly see several rebukes of rich men, including a description of their evil deeds. James accuses these rich men of fraud, and of keeping back the hard-earned money of the laborers they had hired. He says they live in pleasure while slaughtering these poor laborers by refusing to give them their wages. The cries of these men have now entered the ears of the Lord of Sabaoth, which implies judgment will come upon them.

In today's episode, James tells us that if we would be willing to humble ourselves in the sight of God, He will lift us up. He also reminds us to not speak evil of our brothers. He goes on to tell us that it is foolish to make plans without knowing the will of God for our lives. He jars our mind by telling us that our lives are as a vapor, they appear for only a short time and then they vanish. James teaches us rather to say: If the Lord is willing. Otherwise, he says such rejoicing is evil. Once again, this book can be very convicting to our hearts.

In today's episode, we took a little detour from answering questions that have been sent in by our listeners, because we felt the need to jump into the middle of a topic that has been severely misconstrued over the past few decades. We look at the paradox that we all know that is called freedom. We look at many sides of this much cherished and fought for ideal of the American people. We give a different take on freedom that we believe might be new to some of those within our audience. We trust that you will have a much better understanding of freedom after listening to this episode!

In today's study, we begin with a confusing scripture, and we try to bring some clarity to it. Then we look at James' statement that God resists the proud, but He gives grace unto the humble. He told us to submit ourselves to God, resist the devil, and then the devil will flee from us. He commanded us to draw nigh to God, and then he stated that God will draw nigh to us. James tells us to cleanse our hands, purify our hearts, while also cautioning us not to be double-minded. This episode is encouraging, yet challenging.
In our Q&A segment, we answer the question: Aren't we to be lifting Christ up in our church services? Jesus even said that if He was lifted up, He would draw all men unto Himself.

In this second installment of Systematic Theology, Bro Donnie and Bro Chris Lee teach part 2 of the Impeccable Christ. They add to their previous defense of the biblical doctrine of the impeccability of Christ. They strengthened their position with many scriptures. These brothers purport that to see Christ as less than He is, this effectively tears Him down. Our purpose is to lift Christ up and exalt Him as highly as humanly possible.

In today's study, we speak a little more concerning the wisdom of God that comes down from above, but then we move on into chapter 4. James begins this chapter with several scathing remarks and a strong rebuke. He asks his audience why they were fighting and warring with each other. He brings up lust, the desire to have things, and why they aren't receiving them. He claims that they would only consume them upon their own lusts. He calls anyone who befriends the world adulterers and adulteresses. He even goes as far as to say that if you are the friend of the world, you are the enemy of God!
In our Q&A segment, we are asked a great question: Are there other gods, or not? Sometimes the Bible speaks as if there are no other gods as in Is. 45:5-6, but then it speaks as if there are in places like Ps. 82:6.
