We are very familiar with some of the terms that John uses, but we see many other things that we feel need to be pointed out. John says Jesus has hair white as wool, eyes like a flame of fire, feet like brass, a garment to the foot, and a golden girdle. What does all of this mean? What does it mean when John says that Jesus is holding 7 stars in His right hand? Who are the angels over the 7 churches?

In today's episode, we tap into what we believe is becoming a common problem within our Pentecostal and Holiness churches. Many people assume that if you teach or preach on topics such as predestination, you must be a Calvinist or a reform theologian. Others think because you lift Christ up, you must be Oneness. There are some who feel that if you believe in supernatural healings and such, you must be a Charismatic. I know this might be considered a bold statement, but all of these are wrong doctrinal assumptions at times. In today's episode, we dive off into the confusing parts of the first chapter of Revelation. There is much confusion as to who is speaking, who is being spoken of, and who is doing what in this chapter. Sometimes it appears to be God the Father, but at other times, it seems certain that it is Jesus. Other times, it looks like John might be in view, but we must also figure out who or what the Angel is here as well. We try to sort through all of these things, and we work at bringing some clarity to these few verses.

The book of Revelation has been avoided, debated, misinterpreted, and misunderstood more than nearly every other biblical book. It is not our intention to go through this book to establish an End Time belief system. We believe that there are way too many things that are overlooked within this powerful book, mainly because everyone's focus is usually on the things concerning the End Times. In today's episode, we finish looking at what all the effectual fervent prayer of righteous man means, and we also see that it avails much. James tells us that Elijah was a man very similar to us, and he prayed that it wouldn't rain for 3.5 years. God answered his prayer, then Elijah prayed again, and God answered that prayer as well, and then He ended the drought. We tend to look at men like Elijah and feel that they were much greater than we are. James tries to let us know that if we live righteously, and pray fervently, our prayers can also avail much.

In today's episode, we answer a question we feel is very relevant for our time. A listener sent us a question asking if we believe that altars are still necessary today. We answered this question with several scriptures, much experience in this matter, and with Godly logic. As long as we have troubles, problems, sickness, and sin, we will always need our altars. We believe that the downfall of many churches and denominations have been made evident by the removal of their altars.

In today's episode, we learn that we are not to swear, but we should yet our yea be yea, and our nay mean nay. James then tells the afflicted, those mourning, and those who are sick, what they need to do. He also tells them how to do these things. He specifies the need of the prayer of faith, the elders within the church, and the anointing of oil. He tells us that the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much, for it saves the sick.
