In today's study, we look into the argument James is famous for. He strongly promotes the belief that faith must have works that come with it, or it is not authentic faith. James uses several analogies to prove his point, and he concludes that if you don't have works with your faith, your faith is dead. He says that Abraham was justified by the work of offering Isaac on the altar, which is contrary to what many denominations today believe.

In today's episode, we continue looking at the scathing rebuke James gave to the rich people of his day. He reminds us of the Royal Law of loving our neighbors as ourselves. He then takes a few verses and expounds to us a great doctrinal approach to viewing the Law. One thing is for sure, James is a straight shooter, and he gets right to the point. Full disclaimer: we will not be studying about man's part in holiness today, for if we fail to have God's holiness, man has no holiness within himself. We look into the idea of what defines the holiness of God, and what that looks like for us. We end up anchoring down into the thought of separation, which in itself is a very interesting study. In today's installment of Systematic Theology, Bro Donnie and Bro Chris Lee teach a subject many people struggle with. For some people, Christ began His existence at Bethlehem. These brothers use biblical evidence to prove this is inaccurate at the least, and heretical at the worst. Jesus is the 2nd member of the Godhead, thus He is deity just as much as the Father. Because the Father has always been, so has Christ. Hang on to your hat, because these brothers will be taking you on a powerful ride through the scriptures, showing Christ in many places all throughout the Old Testament and even before that!

In today's study, we learn that if you are only a hearer of the Word of God, and you are not a doer, God is not pleased. James says you are like a man who looks into the mirror, you see some things, but then you purposely forgot what you saw. Those who continue to look into this perfect law of liberty and continues in it will be blessed. We also examine the idea of those who seem to be religious, but can't seem to bridle their tongue. James boldly declared that their religion is vain, or empty.

In today's episode, we dig into what we feel is some of the most important verses found within the book of James. We study what it means to be a hearer of the Word, and what it means to be a doer of the Word. We see that the engrafted Word of God is able to save our souls. We learn that the Word of God is also referred to as a mirror. James tells us that if we look into the mirror and forget what we saw, we are decieved! God wants us to hear His Word, for without the hearing of the Gospel, we can't be saved. But even greater, God desires for us to do those things we hear from His Word.
