"But inevitably, every single time when I talk about, like in this particular culture, in this particular country, and when they were faced with this particular scenario, this is what they did, there were structural changes, but there was also psychological changes and, and how these things don't change at the same pace, right? And so, like, this is just a parenthetical here, right? You can create structural changes to account for things that have gone wrong."

"I observed and listened to a conversation a few days ago, men and women. But in this particular case, I want to talk about the men because it was heartbreaking, breakingly eye opening and so blatant in how the prison shackles hold men even when they declare their freedom and their existence at as king of the hill, so to speak. Right? So there were some men describing themselves essentially as quote unquote, real men, right? They were alphas."

Click here to reply to @SeekingPlumb

"So I talked about Namibia and Iceland still having sexism and misogyny. It's because the changing of thinking for men in particular or culture more generally takes time, right. If stereotypes have long life span, if our fiction and the messaging takes time to change, then it's going to take a while before what shapes that state of sensitivity in men really changes. Right."

And I thought, oh, no, I don't like to entice the birds and then have my cat outside. Barge just feels wrong. But they must know that he doesn't have good hearing and eyesight anymore. And so they were quite bold."

"It had me thinking about, like when we hear someone say something, whether it's a lie or whether it's a fact or whatever. Like the responsibility that we hold as people who receive that information. And really needing in this day and age, more than ever to be honest with ourselves about where and when we choose to take something in and when we choose to reject something. Because I think."

"And so when you start to identify the umbrella of autism, then you won't necessarily be surprised to see all these other things underneath it. So it's really, really important that one, we recognize that autism is far more complex, that it is an umbrella, or if you will, a doorway to walk through to have better understanding to the brain, the nervous system, the biology of this specific individual."

"And so then we take ideas that have a long history of right and wrong, but then we lean into them more heavily and we want to like, get down to a granular level of what is right and wrong. Except that doing this is an impossibility. This is what I mean. Someone will say, maybe it's about like your vote. If you voted for, then you are responsible for everything that that party does. That is not true."

"I'm glad I pondered this because I was having difficulty reconciling my grief with also my appreciation. And now I can see the grief as a tool and recognizing why it was there. And it's not necessarily about loss. It's about redirection and intentionally creating a slight shift for fine tuning. And that. That transmutes that feeling from grief into intentional choice. That. That is. That's empowering."
