Podcast in Death

Well, everyone, you asked for it, and now you have it. Our "Closet Fairy" episode!

One thing we learn here is that AJ and Tara know nothing about clothes, but Jen does! At the very least, Jen knows what "Stitch Fix" is!

We take a look at the many times that Roarke helps Eve out with her wardrobe whether she wants him to or not.

We talk about whether or not many of the outfits that Nora has Roarke pick out for Eve have meanings beyond just being an outfit that looks good.

We also talk about Eve's apparent love for gold party dresses (or maybe that's Roarke's love of Eve in gold party dresses?).

We mention the bombshell that was dropped a few days ago that Regé-Jean Page will not be back for the second season of "Bridgerton," but Jen and AJ will go deeper into that subject on this week's "Briefing Room."

Even though this book is very short, a LOT happens in a short time. We find out some details about Roarke's father, and there's a chance that Patrick Roarke was in Dallas at the same time that Eve's father was. Is that too much of a coincidence? Maybe, but we [...]

In this episode we once again have as our guest, author Judy Kentrus!

We start off this show by talking (again) about the controversy surrounding "Faithless in Death" and accusations of "Christian Bashing." As we point out, when you use a Kindle or other device to search for phrases like "Christian" or "Conservative," you won't find it there. So how is it that some people are concluding that the cult in this book are Christians??

Judy tells us a little about her new book, Spirit of the Winds. This is Judy's first historical, and there's also a little bit of a murder mystery in this one.

We talk about how Eve and Roarke might solve a murder in historical time, and about the In Death world in general.

Judy did a ton of research for this historical novel, and even did some research on opium, so she's hoping the FBI never has to look at her browser history.

AJ feels like in the American West, Eve and Roarke would be a duo kind of like in the TV Show (and movie) Wild Wild West.

AJ did a little bit of research also, and found a couple of great stories about "Lady Marshalls" in the late 1800's in America. Click here to see read those stories.

For further research on lady "cops" of the old west, see these links:

F.M. Miller, Female Deputy Marshall

Marie Owens First US Female Police Officer

We also imagine what it might be like if Eve and Roarke were pirates. Although, we decide Eve would most likely be a Privateer, and Roarke would be a Pirate.

Also: Judy answers our fan questions!

Faithless in Death was a book that deals with some really heavy subjects, and pushes some political hot buttons during a time when people are extra sensitive at having their political hot buttons pushed. So, because of that, the first half hour or so of this show, we take time [...]

This week we have an episode that we put together at the last minute for reasons that will be explained in the episode. So, in this episode, we talk about the various book covers from the J.D. Robb "In Death" series. Mostly, we are looking at what we would call [...]
