L.A. Bounty (1989) synopsis: “A tough female ex-cop-turned-bounty hunter goes after the gang of a crazed killer who murdered her partner.”
Starring: Sybil Danning, Wings Hauser, Henry Darrow, and Lenore Kasdorf
Director: Worth Keeter
After a short Wings-free hiatus, Zak brings us another movie starring our beloved Mr. Hauser as a fantastic villain! He’s not quite as maniacal as ‘Ramrod’ from Vice Squad (1982) but he’s still a blast to watch on screen. Oh, and this is the first Sybil Danning film that we’ve reviewed on the show and it’s her least sexual role. Lol go figure! I’m sure we’ll see more of Sybil in the future ;)
We hope you enjoy this breakdown and review of L.A. Bounty (1989)! Leave a comment on Patreon or social media and let us know your thoughts on the movie or episode. Also, why is Darth Vader in the music?

Corey continues his series of Watchlist episodes with hosts from the BFOP Network! This week he lists his top five favorite sci-fi movie spaceships with Tim Manness from the Talking Back podcast. Tim is a huge Star Trek fan so Corey figured he would be the best person for the job, and he wasn’t wrong! They both have a lively discussion about some iconic and not-so-iconic spacefaring vehicles and what’s so personally appealing about them.

Hard Target (1993) synopsis: “A woman hires a drifter as her guide through New Orleans in search of her missing father. In the process, they discover a deadly game of cat and mouse behind his disappearance.”
Starring: Jean-Claude Van Damme, Yancy Butler, Arnold Vosloo, and Lance Henriksen
Director: John Woo
If you’ve been listing to Podcasting After Dark since the beginning, you know that we absolutely love Jean-Claude Van Damme, but we did not love Cyborg (1989) as much as we thought we did… nostalgia’s a helluva drug! So, in an attempt to redeem JCVD’s good name before we wrap up PAD Season 2, co-host Corey is busting out the big guns: Hard Target (1993)!
This is Corey’s favorite American John Woo film and his favorite Jean-Claude Van Damme! And yea, that’s a spoiler but you’ll find out within the first ten minutes just how much he loves this film. The real question is, did it land with Zak? Listen and find out!

Hawkeye (1994-95) starring Lee Horsley, Lynda Carter, and Rodney A. Grant - IMDb Link
This week on Podcasting After Dark presents TV Obscura, Corey, Zak, and Diallo dive into a plethora of genres as they discuss three nostalgic television shows from their youth! Zak kicks off the discussion with Midnight Caller, a super-stylized crime drama starring Gary Cole and Dennis Dun of Big Trouble In Little China (1986). Then Corey takes us to the “near future” with Alien Nation starring Gary Graham, of Robot Jox (1989) fame, just before Diallo launches us back to the 1700s with Hawkeye, starring the always-stunning Lynda Hamilton!

Witchboard (1986) synopsis: “When his girlfriend becomes dangerously obsessed with a ghost she contacted using a ouija board, Jim reluctantly joins forces with her ex - his own estranged childhood best friend - to identify and exorcise the evil spirit.”
Starring: Todd Allen, Tawny Kitaen, and Stephen Nichols
Director: Kevin Tenney
This week on Podcasting After Dark, we review Kevin Tenney’s (Night of the Demons 1988) directorial debut, Witchboard (1986)! Zak originally had this movie further down the queue but bumped it to the top once we heard of Tawny Kitaen’s unfortunate passing. We hope this episode serves as a tribute to her as well as a reminder why this movie is so great!
If you haven’t seen Witchboard before, like co-host Corey prior to this review, we highly recommend checking it out before listening. It’s infinitely better than it probably has any right to be! Also, we made a little drinking game to go with the movie and podcast episode. Let us know how hammered you get lol ;p

We are kicking off a new series of Watchlist episodes here at Podcasting After Dark! This time, instead of the guest choosing the topic, Corey is pairing up with his BFOP Network podcasting peers to discuss Corey’s favorite things (which are mostly of a science fiction nature)!
Starting with sci-fi guns, Corey felt that John Speas from The Blast From Our Past would be the perfect person to talk to about this topic. Not only do they both love Colonial Marines but John is also an avid gun collector. A match made in Pulse Rifle/Smart Gun heaven!

Screamers (1995) synopsis: “A military commander stationed off planet during an interplanetary war travels through the devastated landscape to negotiate a peace treaty, but discovers that the primitive robots they built to kill enemy combatants have gained sentience.”
Starring: Peter Weller, Roy Dupuis, Jennifer Rubin, and Charles Edwin Powell
Director: Christian Duguay
This week on Podcasting After Dark, Corey walks us through the mid-90s cult sci-fi/horror movie, Screamers (1995)! This was a film that he always enjoyed as a kid but didn’t appreciate its greatness until he was much older. The themes and ideas being examined in Screamers holds up very well in 2021!
You throw in some great set deign and fantastic performances from every actor involved and you have an amazing example of how to do low-budget sci-fi right! We highly recommend re-watching Screamers (1995) if you haven’t seen it in a while.

The boys have been waiting for PG to drop ever since they interviewed its director, Steven Kostanski for Interviews After Dark, and they aren’t ashamed to admit that it totally exceeded their expectations. That’s a huge friggin’ deal!
We hope you enjoy this deep dive into Psycho Goreman but don’t worry if you haven’t seen it yet. Zak and Corey have a spoiler-free discussion about their thoughts on it at the top of the episode.
