Sesiwn 2: Dod at yr anadl

Mae'r arfer meddylgarwch y sesiwn yma yn eich gwahodd i angori eich sylw yn yr eiliad bresennol gan ddefnyddio'r anadl. Gall ymarfer rhoi ein sylw fel hyn yn yr oes sydd ohoni ein helpu i wasgu'r botwm saib ar yr adegau hynny pan fydd ein meddyliau'n carlamu a phryderon.

Gallwch wneud hyn trwy wrando ar y podlediad neu trwy ddilyn y canllawiau byr yn y gwahoddiad isod. Efallai yr hoffech chi roi cynnig ar y recordiad yn gyntaf ac yna ei drio y tu allan.

Y tro yma, mae'r synau natur ar ddechrau ac ar ddiwedd y recordiad yn dod o gae wrth ymyl Afon Ffrydlas, yn uchel uwchben Bethesda.

Gwahoddiad 2: Dod at yr anadl

• Dod o hyd i le cyfforddus a rhoi eiliad i'r corff setlo...
• Sylwi... ar y teimladau yn y traed... lle mae'r corff yn cysylltu a'r sedd o'ch dewis...
• Ymhle mae'r anadl yn ymddangos yn y corff? Efallai y gallwch osod eich llaw i ddilyn symudiad y corff mewn ymateb i'r anadl...
• Bydd y meddwl yn siwr o grwydro yma ac acw...efallai y bydd yn cynllunio neu yn cofio...pan fydd hyn yn digwydd, yna ymarfer ei dywys yn ôl yn garedig - sut un ydir anadl yma?
• Mae anadlu yn rhywbeth y mae ein cyrff yn ei wneud ar ei ben ei hun...does yna ddim
• angen ceisio anadlu mewn ffordd benodol - ddim ond sylwi ar yr anadl fel ag y mae...

Chwalu myth meddylgarwch: Mae angen i chi wagio eich meddwil o feddyliau
Efallai mai un o'r camsyniadau mwyaf cyffredin o feddylgarwch yw bod angen i chi
wagio'ch meddwil neu atal eich meddyliau. Nid yw hyn yn wir ac mae hyn bron yn
ambhosibl! Mewn gwirionedd, mae'n ymwneud ag annog perthynas mwy cyfeillgar a'n
meddyliau ac fe all hyn leihau tensiwn yn ein bywydau.

Bydd y sesiwn nesaf yn cynnwys synau o ran wahanol o'r Carneddau ac arfer meddwlgarwch ynglyn a defnyddio'r synhwyrau fel Ile i angori ein sylw.

Session 2: Settling with the breath

The mindfulness practice in this session invites you to anchor your attention in the present moment using the breath. Practicing placing our attention in the here and now like this can help us press pause at those times when our minds are galloping away with

This week, the nature sounds that abut the recording are from a field next to the Afon Ffrydlas, high above Bethesda.

Invitation 2: Settling with the breath

• Finding a comfortable spot and give the body a moment to settle...
• Noticing....sensations in the feet...where the body meets your chosen seat...
• Directing the attention now to notice breath flowing in, breath flowing out...
• Where does the breath show up in the body? Perhaps placing a hand here to follow the movement of the body in response to the breath...
• The mind will dance off here and there...perhaps planning or remembering...when this happens, practice gently guiding it back to - what's this breath like just now?
• Breathing is something our bodies do all by themselves...no need for the breath to be a particular way - observing the breath however it shows up...

Mindfulness myth buster: You need to empty your mind of thoughts

Perhaps one of the commonest misconceptions of mindfulness is that you need to empty your mind or stop your thoughts. This is not the case and is just about impossible! Really, it is about encouraging a friendlier relationship with our thinking minds which can reduce tension in our lives.

The next session will have sounds from a different part of the Carneddau and a mindfulness
practice about using the senses as a place to anchor our attention.

Session 1: Meeting the feet

This first session invites you to ‘meet the feet’. Very often our attention is with our thoughts. This is an opportunity to place the attention quite deliberately back in the body and to explore the world around us through the soles of our feet.

You can do this by listening to the podcast or by following the potted guidance in the invitation below. You might like to try inside with the recording first and then outside...

Invitation 1: ‘Meeting the feet’

• Standing (or sitting) with the feet placed on the ground, taking a deeper breath...
• Letting the body and mind settle as best you can...perhaps even a long sigh...
• Next, taking your attention to the soles of your feet...
• Simply noticing where the weight falls...heels, toes...? Where is there no pressure?
• Tuning into textures and sensations beneath the feet - what's here...? Perhaps softness of a rug or carpet if you're inside, squidge of grass or hardness of a slate path if you re outside...
• Taking a step or two and being curious about the changing sensations and textures in the different parts of the feet.
• What's this footstep like...? Noticing the feel of things through the soles of the feet as you explore, as if for the very first time...

Mindfulness myth buster: Mindfulness must be practiced slowly

Mindfulness doesn't have to be practiced slowly. We can practice mindful walking or running, exploring sensations of air whooshing past or the sound of the feet landing. Sometimes it can help to start by taking a pause more slowly and deliberately, noticing sensations in some detail at first.

The next session will have sounds from a different part of the Carneddau and a mindfulness practice about exploring the breath as a place to anchor the attention.

Mae'r sesiwn gyntaf hon yn eich gwahodd i gwrdd ar traed. Yn aml iawn mae ein sylw yn nghanol ein meddyliau. Dyma gyfle i dalu sylw’n fwriadol i'r corff ac i archwilio'r byd o'n cwmpas trwy wadnau ein traed.

Gallwch wneud hyn trwy wrando ar y podlediad neu trwy ddilyn y canllawiau byr yn y gwahoddiad isod. Efallai yr hoffech chi roi cynnig ar y recordiad yn gyntaf ac yna ei drio y tu

• Sefyll (neu eistedd) gyda'r traed wedi eu gosod yn wastad ar y llawr, gan gymryd anadl ddyfnach...
• Gadael i'r corff a'r meddwl i setlo y gorau gallwch... fe allwch hyd yn oed gymryd ochenaid hir..
• Yna dod ar sylw at wadnau eich traed...
• Sylwi ble mae'r pwysau ar y traed... ar belen y droed, y sodlau, bysedd traed..? A oes yna ran o'r troed nad yw'n cyffwrdd y llawr?
• Tiwnio i mewn i weadau a theimladau o dan y traed - beth sydd yma...? Efallai yn sylwi ar ryg neu garped meddal os ydych chi y tu mewn, neu ansawdd y glaswellt neu galedwch Ilwybr llechi os ydych chi y tu allan...
• Cymryd cam neu ddau gan fod a diddordeb yn y teimladau a'r newidiadau sy'n codi yng ngwahanol rannau o'r traed...
• Sut un ydi'r cam yma...? Gan sylwi ar y teimladau sy'n codi drwy wadnau'r traed wrth i chi dalu sylw, fel pe bai am y tro cyntaf erioed...

Chwalu myth Meddylgarwch : Rhaid ymarfer meddylgarwch yn araf

Nid oes rhaid ymarfer meddylgarwch yn araf. Gallwn ymarfer cerdded neu redeg yn ystyriol, gan sylwi ar deimladau or awel yn rhuthro heibio neu swn y traed yn glanio. Weithiau gall helpu iddechrau drwy arafu, gan gymryd saib bwriadol, gan sylwi ar fanylion y teimladau yn eithaf manwl ar y dechrau.

Bydd y sesiwn nesaf yn cynnwys synau o ran gwahanol o'r Carneddau ac ymarfer meddylgarwch drwy dalu sylw i'r anadl fel lle i angori'r sylw.

Mae'r gyfres fer ymwybyddiaeth mewn natur yn cyflwyno chwech o ymarferion i chi gyflawni yn eich cartref, eich gardd neu yn y byd o'ch cwmpas. Mae synau o wahanol ardaloedd o'r Carneddau yn cyd-fynd a phob recordiad.

Ymwybyddiaeth…

Yn syml, mae ymwybyddiaeth yn dod a'n sylw i'r presenol. Pan mae ein meddyliau'n prysuro, gall hyn fod yn doriad hynod bwysig at ein iechyd cyffredinol.

Ymwybyddiaeth mewn natur…

Mae natur yn le perffaith i ymarfer ac yn aml rydym yn ymgysylltu'n naturiol gyda'r amser presenol a'n synhwyrau wrth dreulio amser yno.

Podlediadau a gwahoddiad… 

Gall bob ymarfer gael ei wneud y tu mewn wrth edrych tu allan at y byd naturiol, neu unrhyw le o'r ardd gefn i gopa mynydd. Pam lai gwrando ar y podlediad tu mewn ac yna gwneud yr ymarfer y tu allan heb gyfarwyddyd, Gallwch atgoffa eich hun o'r pwyntiau yn y gwahoddiadau cyn mynd allan. Gall mynd a rhywbeth gyda chi i eistedd arno fod yn hwylus i gadw'n sych.

Mindfulness…

Quite simply, mindfulness is about bringing attention to the present moment. When our minds get busy, this can be a welcome break which can support our overall wellbeing.

Mindfulness in nature…

Nature is a wonderful place to practice mindfulness and very often we naturally engage with the present moment through our senses when we spend time there.

The podcasts and the invitations… 

Each mindfulness practice can be done inside looking out or in the natural world, anywhere from a garden to a forest to a mountain top. Why not try listening to the podcast indoors and then having a go outdoors without the guidance. You could cast a glance over the pointers in the invitations as a reminder before you head out. Outside, something to sit on can be handy to protect you from the cold or wet. 

Snowdonia has many peaceful areas for people to enjoy. It’s an important part of mental health and well-being. The quiet space is an opportunity to get away, be active and take time out from busy lives.

This month Angela Jones and Dani Robertson from the SNPA co-host an informative and relaxing episode of the Eryri Podcast and joining them as guests to talk about tranquillity and solitude are Jill Bullen from Natural Resources Wales, Dr Graeme Shannon from Bangor University and Bran Devey from Ramblers Cymru.

The next episode will be in Welsh and the topic will be Biodiversity in Snowdonia.

Yr Ysgwrn is not your typical Welsh farmhouse. the history and symbolism that the place represents is one of the main reasons the Snowdonia National Park Authority bought it in March 2012.

The home reflects a period of social, cultural and agricultural history at the turn of the 20th century. Hedd Wyn's life and death are representative of an entire generation of young men from Wales, Britain and Europe, who gave the ultimate sacrifice during the First World War.

Wales has its own rainforests which are rich in a diversity of wildlife and culture. These special areas are more commonly referred to as Celtic Rainforests.
