With the sad news yesterday of Jane Goodall's passing, we thought we'd look back at an episode where her name randomly popped up - and led to an amazing story!

It was during my visit to Lithgow and a chat with Melinda from Kanimbla Wombats - who was hanging out with Jane just last year. If you don't now anything about Jane Goodall and the amazing things she did - have a listen to this. 🤗

I had the absolute pleasure of sitting down with the brilliant Mikaela Magro, a 19-year-old legend from the Central Coast who plays for the Australian Women's Deaf Football Team.

I had so many questions!

We chat about the amazing technology - like the magnet screwed to her skull (that doubles as a brilliant party trick), and the surprising rule that every player has to follow, to create a truly level playing field.

About a year ago, I pulled into the Triple M carpark with the Podvan (which was a WEIRD moment - after years of driving past it every weekday on my way to a competing breakfast radio show!) and I had a great chat with Maz Compton.

Maz does the show with Paddy Gerrard and we go waaaaaay back! In fact, she said that I was the first person to ever put her on air!

First up, a bit of a warning on this one. This episode deals with the loss of a child. There's tears, there's (surprisingly) a lot of laughs - and there's actually a positive message out of the whole thing. When the Podvan rolled up to the Cancer Council's annual Relay for Life, I didn't know who I'd meet there. I couldn't have imagined I’d sit down with Lou and Rob, the proud parents of a champion - who I'd actually met a few years ago.

Their son, Spencer, was a 10 year old entrepreneur that launched "Spins Bins," a wheelie bin cleaning empire.

In the episode, Lou and Rob share their story about finding laughter and light in the darkest of times, what keeps them going, (one minute at a time) and the incredible community that has rallied around them.
