On this week’s show, we jump to the 24th century, as David had to watch the first episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation, “Encounter at Farpoint, Part One.” The Enterprise gets a new Captain, and along with him comes some new crew members. We also meet a species that will become quite entrenched in the story of the United Federation of Planets.

Jason, on the other hand goes back to 2009, as he watches a four way Rey de Voladores qualifier from that year’s King of Trios. This is the first Chikara match in this podcast’s short history, and boy, is it a doozy.

If you missed last week’s episode of Podvocacy, on this show, David watches an episode of Star Trek and then asks Jason questions about what he’s watched. The tables then turn, and Jason asks David questions about a wrestling match he’s watched.

On this week’s show, we’ll be going with an early episode from the original series of Star Trek, “The Man Trap”. There are certainly some interesting things to delve into, like plot holes, possible ground work being laid for future relationships, and the importance of shirt color.

As the fourth season of Better Call Saul ends, so does this version of Podvocacy. Starting next week, we’ll be debuting a new format, and there may be a few other changes to go along with it…but you can hear all about that in this week’s episode.

In TV Talk, Jason and David discuss the season four finale of the aforementioned Better Call Saul. And, boy, what a finale it was. Mike takes a hard turn down a dark road, and is followed very quickly by Jimmy. We’ve known what these characters become in the end, since we know who they are by the time of Breaking Bad, but the way they’re getting there feels less like a triumph, and more like a cautionary tale. But, on a lighter note, there is some Abba thrown in.

In Wrestling with Wrestling, David talks about this weekend’s Chikara show, “Piano Lessons Can Be Murder”, which included the return of a major figure.

On this week’s show, Jason and David spend some time talking about “roll your own” streaming platforms, and David talks about some recent episodes of one of his favorite podcasts.

In TV Talk, the guys discuss the most recent two episodes of Better Call Saul. What is going on with Kim and Jimmy? This two episode arc gives us a lot of answers, but also leaves us with a lot of questions. A figure only briefly mentioned in Breaking Bad shows up to ruin Nacho’s day…which wasn’t very good to begin with. Werner makes a big mistake, but Gus shows that he can be somewhat forgiving…as long as Mike vouches.

We also discuss a recent wrestling match, as the Powerbomb.tv Match of the Week makes its return. This week’s match sees Orange Cassidy take on Colt Cabana from Beyond Wrestling’s Feast Championship Wrestling. David, not being the Star Trek aficionado that Jason is, had a lot of questions, and Jason had a lot of answers. It drove a really fun discussion. There’s also some excellent discussion about how young Mark Ruffalo was once.
