Jason watched Ben Affleck’s second directorial effort The Town, a bank heist film starring Affleck, Rebecca Hall, Jeremy Renner, and Jon Hamm. David, meanwhile watched Ex Machina, the directorial debut by screenwriter Alex Garland (28 Days Later, Dredd). What, if anything, do these young filmmakers have to say? Why can’t Cassidy seem to harness any of the same vampire powers that Eccarius has? Will we see the rise of the Fourth Reich?

David had the opportunity to sit down across the internet from none other than Razerhawk, one third of the Xyberhawx 2000, and a member of the Chikara roster.

They discuss Razerhawk’s origins, his health, and the upcoming King of Trios. David is curious about the Director of Fun position in Chikara, and what Razer thinks of the two DoFs he has worked under. Also, David asked for questions on Twitter, and he got a fair few, and posited them to the Flyest Wrestler of the New Millennium.

Jason has been watching some anime, and was able to see a movie with his son. Were there tears? Let’s just say there weren’t not tears (double negative…tricky). David had a family trip recently, and he talks a little about the wrestling he’s watched over the past few weeks.

There is also some brief high level discussion of Preacher, primarily focusing on what the characters have been up to over the past 4 episodes, as we barrel toward the finale. Jesse’s past has been revealed. Tulip’s back to doing what she does best. Cassidy has fallen in with a middling group of vampires. We also highlight what the second level characters have been up to.

It’s Summer of Shame time! We start the 2018 off with a bang…somewhat literally. We start off with two very interesting choices: Constantine, and Whiplash. Jason gives his thoughts about the 2005 adaptation of the Vertigo/DC comic, Hellblazer, starring Keanu Reeves, Rachel Weisz, Tilda Swinton, and Shia Labeouf. David doesn’t have to go back quite as far to talk about the 2014 Best Picture nominee, which stars J. K. Simmons as a demanding drum professor, and Miles Teller as his pupil/victim.

Our degenerate trio (sorta) has finally made it to Angelville…where they encounter Jesse’s grandmother, whom he promptly asks for a favor. That is certain to go over well. We get a few flashbacks that show us some of the ugly truths in the L’Angell family history, and the things that Jesse has done.

In Wrestling with Wrestling, David discusses the happenings surrounding the New Japan Pro Wrestling G1 Special in San Francisco.
