In early March, the Israel Ministry of Health reported on a circulating vaccine-derived poliovirus type 3 (cVDPV3) case in an unvaccinated child from Jerusalem.

Since then, a number of additional cases have been reported and the health ministry said recently that they are in the throes of an outbreak.
