Politics By Faith w/Mike Slater

Signer Samuel Huntington and The Proclamation

How many signers of the Declaration of Independence can you name? There were 56 of them. Shouldn't we know all of these men who pledged their lives, fortunes, and sacred honor for us?

One of our founders was Samuel Huntington and he issued a proclamation that is a must-read.

Thomas Paine and the Battle of Long Island

Have you ever felt as much despair as the colonists after the British steamrolled over Washington's men into Manhattan? Good thing Thomas Paine was there to set our hearts right and to make the point that "yes, it's hard. But it's worth it".

Our Founders and Solemnity

That's the word I now think of when I think of our founding fathers: solemnity. Today we highlight two of the signers, Robert Morris and John Hart, as an inspiration on how we should love this country.

Morning Motivational: Our Founding and The Gospel

John Adams wrote that Independence Day would be a day celebrated for generations in the future. He was right about that. But he also said it should be celebrated with "solemn acts of devotion to God Almighty." Why? His son, 62 years later, tells us the answer.

Morning Motivation: Lay Up For Yourselves

That phrase is in the Bible twice. What are these treasures we're laying up for ourselves in heaven? And how do they compare to the things we idolize on earth today?

Mike Slater is committed to getting to the heart of America's crime crisis. A good place to start is George Soros and his son Alex Soros. What are these two doing to influence policing and the law across the country? Cully Stimson of the Heritage Foundation quite literally wrote the book on these two and he shares what he's learned. Soros is only part of the equation though as these roots run deeper into culture. Adam B. Coleman provides his perspective on the black community and the crisis of parenting as it pertains to crime as well.

Morning Motivation: The Greatest In Babylon

Imagine the disappointment if you're dying of thirst and you see a well and you desperately pull the bucket out of the well and it's empty. That's the constant feeling of worshiping idols. They never provide a drop of comfort.

Morning Motivation: The Whole Duty Of Man

I've been the subject of a once-in-a-lifetime experiment. And the results are shocking to me, but...they obviously shouldn't be shocking at all. The Bible said this would happen. Why am I surprised? But, will I learn the lesson?

Debunking Myths About Crime In America

There are many myths put out there by progressives when it comes to crime in America. Those myths have turned into policy and helped lead us down a slippery slope as a nation. So Mike Slater asks the question: are we even worthy of being a civilized society? To help answer that question, Mike is joined by Barry Latzer. Barry is the author of multiple books, including The Myth Of Over-punishment.

Morning Motivation: No Place To Lay His Head

How do you respond when He takes it away? My story is very minor. I'm not sure how I'd respond if He takes away my health or my family. But His promises are still true.
