  • How to Navigate a "Midlife Crisis"

#107// Have you been feeling like you're behind in life, running out of time, and lacking what you need to be truly successful?

I'd been feeling this a bit recently, and I decided to take some focused time to sit with the Lord on it. I'm approaching my 49th birthday, and it's recently felt to me like I've been wading through a bit of a "midlife crisis" season . . . for the better part of a decade! I knew I needed a good old fashioned, "come to Jesus" journaling session to get to the bottom of what was really going on here, and once I began downloading what I was hearing from the Lord, I just knew it would make a helpful podcast episode for all of us.

One of the first things I heard the Lord say clearly was: "There is never an appropriate time for a midlife crisis." Wow! So then I had to know: If there's never an appropriate time for something like this, then what is this weight I am currently experiencing, and how do I come out from under it? How can I get moving in a way that is infused with hope, faith and effectiveness that will bring ME a sense of fulfillment and YOU all the glory?

On this episode of the Positioned to Prosper podcast, I'm sharing all the things I learned as a result of that session with the Lord, as well as the things I learned as I faithfully walked out the words He's spoken to me over the past few months. So if you're ready to know how you can break free of those "I'm running out of time and I'm never going to make it" thoughts, I want you to grab your Bible, your journal and a pen, and . . . Let's Go!

  • Yes, You Can Hear God's Voice

#106// Are you confident that YOU can hear God's voice?  If there's ONE conversation I get into the most with believers, it would be this! There is so much confusion and doubt about whether the "voice" they are hearing is God, the enemy, themselves or someone else. This keeps us in a cycle of confusion and paralysis, and it's absolutely a scheme of the enemy. It's time for it to stop!

In this episode of the Positioned to Prosper podcast, I'm giving you the four things you need to do to ensure you're hearing the voice of God clearly, for yourself. If you'll do these four things, the confusion will leave and you will have confidence in your own ability to hear God at his word. And, consequently, you'll start to see things transform quickly in your life. Because THAT, my friend, is what hearing and believing God's word can do for you!

So if you're ready to settle this issue of whether you can hear God's voice for yourself or not, I want you to grab your Bible, your journal and a pen, and . . . Let's Go!

The Jesus Girl Gang is NOW OPEN: As I mention in this week's episode, we all need a Jesus Girl Gang as we endeavor to hear the voice of God clearly. Want to join ours? • Has God Called You to a Biznistry?

#105//  Has God called you to operate both in business and in ministry at the same time? If you said "Yes!" then you, my friend, have something I like to call a "Biznistry" -- Business + Ministry.

Years ago I operated solely in the marketplace, working for a massive, publicly traded company in their tax accounting department. But then, after 12 years of being in that realm, God called me to start serving exclusively in ministry. I "retired" from my job at the age of 33 (I had a retirement party just so I wouldn't be tempted to go back!) and began putting all my efforts into ministry activities. That went on for a few years until I felt the Lord nudging me again, this time to become a certified holistic health coach. All of a sudden, I was back in the business sphere again!

As I stepped back into business, I heard God saying that I wasn't to do just one or the other -- ministry OR business -- but instead, I was meant to do them both simultaneously, together. He said, "It's all one thing, Erica!" In all honesty, this overwhelmed me at first, so I went to the Word to see if something like this was even possible. And there I found it -- Acts 18 where it tells us that Paul, the apostle and church planter, was also a tentmaker! Over the years, as I walked with the Lord while building my Biznistry, I began to understand why it was so valuable to the heart of God that I could operate in both places as though they were one thing. But I'll tell you something . . . it didn't come without some significant difficulties!

In this episode of the Positioned to Prosper podcast, I'm asking you the question -- "Have you been called to a biznistry, too?" And if you have, how are you feeling about that right now? Are you experiencing any roadblocks or significant hurdles to accepting the mantle, and stepping into the fullness of such an assignment? I'll share with you all the tough spots I ran into, and how I was able to get through them and keep moving into the fullness of my purpose of Christ.

Alright, my friend, if you're ready to chat Biznistry, I want you to grab your Bible, your journal and a pen, and . . . Let's Go!

  • Repairing the Walls of Your Health

#104// You know I LOVE a good conversation on gut health, right?

Maybe it's because I suffered with digestive and hormonal balances for decades of my life, and then God totally escorted me into radical healing, and that PUMPS me up. Or maybe it's the fact that, as a certified, holistic health coach that "specializes" in digestive and hormonal balance and support, I truly LOVE to help other people find their own road to healing (and that road ALWAYS leads through Gut Town, let's be honest 😆).

Whatever that reason is, I'm leaning into it this week on the podcast. That's what we've got going on in this week's Positioned to Prosper episode: A good convo on gut health. I'm breaking down the three "layers" of your digestive system and how each of these layers comes together to support the seat of (some experts say) more than 80% of your immune system and your body's neurotransmitter production.

Those facts right there are the reason why I always start with the gut when it comes to helping folks craft a plan that'll have them living long enough and strong enough to do and be all God created them for. Address gut issues and you'll likely address hormonal, adrenal, energy, sleep, mood and weight loss needs, too. #TrueStory

So if you'd like to "grab a cup of coffee" with me and talk about how to repair those important walls of your health, grab your Bible, your journal and a pen, and . . . Let's Go!

  • Anxious For Nothing? A Spirit, Soul, Body Approach

#103// Where does being anxious for nothing happen? Is it a spirit, soul or body activity? You could argue that it's definitely a spiritual activity because we find this command in the Bible (Paul to the Philippians). But then there's also the argument, born of the world, that says the *only* way to address anxiety effectively is through physical and/or medicinal means. And what about the *enlightened* crew out there who understands that the mind plays a big part in how our thinking impacts how we feel and what happens in our body?

What if everyone is a little bit right? What if being anxious for nothing is all of them -- a spiritual activity, a soul activity and a physical body activity? What if the truth is: Being anxious for nothing has everything to do with every part of your triune being being properly aligned with each other and with Truth?  (Spoiler Alert: That's totally what the Truth is!)

In this episode of the Positioned to Prosper podcast I'm going to be walking us through the triune approach to being anxious for nothing. I'll share Biblical principles so you can see where the triune being framework comes from, and then I'll give you some practical strategies for your spirit, soul and body that you can engage with to see anxiety flee, and the peace that passes all understanding coming to guard your heart and mind, all while your body gets the memo that it can chill down and trust God fully.

Sound good? If you're ready for this, I want you to grab your Bible, your journal and a pen, and . . . Let's Go!

  • A Year of Favor & God's Vengeance

#102// So, how do you feel about the vengeance of God?  It's a tough one, isn't it? We love to hear about, talk about and meditate on the favor of God, but what if I told you that God's favor isn't full without His vengeance working in the same realm? It's true!

The word vengeance is synonymous with the word retribution. Retribution is defined as "recompense or reward." When you break down the word retribution into its prefix and root, you get "re" + "tribute." Re means "back", and tribute means "a payment made as a symbol of submission or the price paid for protection." Therefore, retribution, in a Biblical sense, is the process of God taking back that which we had paid to a false idol for a false sense of safety, and giving it back to the only One who is worthy -- His Son, Jesus Christ! This year will be a year of experiencing God's favor, even as we observe Him reattributing the things that were stolen by and improperly given to the enemy, so He can tribute them back to Jesus. How awesome is that?!

In this episode of the Positioned to Prosper podcast, I'm sharing a word around God's favor and vengeance that I brought to our church, REVIVE Church of Tampa, at last Sunday's prayer service. It's a word for the new year and the season we're stepping into. I shared the word during the weekend of Rosh Hashana -- the Jewish New Year -- as we stepped into year 5783. What is God wanting to show us about His favor and His vengeance as we step into this pivotal season? That's what we're exploring in this episode, so go and grab your Bible, your journal and a pen, and . . . Let's Go!

  • Successfully Navigating A Wilderness Season

#101 // Are you in a wilderness season right now?  When you find yourself in a "wilderness season," what do you think that means? What does it mean about you? About God? About your circumstances or the people around you? What does experiencing a wilderness season mean to your future and your ability to reach your dreams?

According to many of the women I've spoken with over the last few years about experiencing a wilderness season, most have said things like -- "Something must be wrong with me or how I'm doing things. I must be out of order. Or maybe it's that I just can't hear God. Maybe I did something wrong and that's why I can't hear him! Or I'm not trying hard enough? Oh, this is bad! I can't figure this out. I keep trying to find a way out of here, but I keep finding myself right back at this same spot. Maybe I'll never get out. Maybe this is the best it'll ever be. Maybe I should just decide to settle right here. Yeah, it's whatever." Do you hear yourself anywhere in this thought progression?

Here's the truth: God has placed purpose right in the midst of a wilderness season. And just as the Holy Spirit led Jesus into the wilderness, there are times when He will lead you into a wilderness season, just the same. But if you do not know that there is purpose and development and upgrade there for you in that seemingly dry place, you'll start to doubt. And then you'll try to figure out how to escape a thing that God has designed to prosper you in the end. All the while, spinning your wheels, stressing out and then burning out. But that's not your portion.

In this episode of the Positioned to Prosper podcast, I'm going to be sharing with you the telltale signs of being "stuck" in a wilderness season for too long, what the purpose of the wilderness season is, the three phases you'll go through in this season, the upgrades available to you in each, how to navigate each phase to get the most out of them, and -- ultimately -- how to trust God to lead you to the exit door at just the right time, so you can come out in power. Just like Jesus did!

Are you ready to jump into this? I truly believe this twenty minutes could change your life if you came to the table hungry. So grab your Bible, your journal and a pen, and . . . Let's Go!

  • Positioned to Prosper: What's Next?

    #100// We've reached Episode 100! So, what's next?

We're celebrating 100 episodes on this week's podcast and the celebration wouldn't be complete without thanking the listeners (that's YOU!) and a handful of other very special folks who encouraged, supported and discipled me along the way (visit the show notes here to see who I'm shouting out).

From the very first episode of Positioned to Prosper, I promised you that every installment would be grounded in three principles:

    • Every bit of wisdom, advice and teaching must find its foundations in the Word of God;
    • Presented life strategies must be Biblical and produce real results in real life; and
    • We're going to talk about *real* discipleship -- the kind Jesus demonstrated when He walked the earth.

I'm pleased to say we haven't veered from this plan at all as we made it to this milestone episode, praise Jesus! And I'm excited to report that, as we head into our second hundred episodes, we'll be bringing interviews to the party. Yes!

So if you have a person in mind that you'd love to see on the Positioned to Prosper podcast, head over to this post on my Facebook page, and drop their name in the comments. You can also drop any topics you'd like to see discussed on a future episode on this post, as well.

Thank you for being here! I'm so excited to continue on this journey with you.

p.s. -- Would you take a moment to leave a helpful review of the podcast on whichever platform you listen on? It helps others who are trying to find quality content to give a listen. I'd be so grateful. Xoxo - Erica

  • Being vs Doing: The Power of Knowing Who You Were Made to Be

#099// You know we're human BEINGS, not human DOINGS, right?

So, why do you think it is that we spend so much of our life focused on the tasks? Focused on the to-do lists, the what to do NOW, the what to do NEXT questions? I believe it has to do with our innate desire to be as "in control" as we can be at every single moment. Honestly, I think we're hanging on WAY too tight most days. Would you agree?

What if there was another way to get to where you really want to go in life -- walking fully in the promises God has spoken over you? What if the strategy of just trying to check all the boxes and do it as perfectly as possible was NEVER meant to be the way? Spoiler Alert: It never was.

Here's the truth: When you spend time with God to HEAR what He says about you and WHO He made you to be, when you take time each day to MEDITATE on the things you've heard from Him, and when you make a habit of DECLARING your identity over yourself on a regular basis and sharing it with others, you will KNOW your next best step in life. You will know, innately, how to walk out the journey of your life in such a way that you will feel fulfilled, and you will reach your destiny while God is glorified.

Sounds amazing, right? Then come have a listen as I share the four steps of getting to this place of prioritizing being over doing, my friend. Grab your Bible, your journal and a pen, and . . . Let's Go!

  • How To Get Better Results . . . Biblically

#098// Do you know how to get better results in your life using Biblical principles?

If you've listened in on any popular productivity or business coach's podcast or trainings these days, you'll hear one mantra spoken more than any other:

"If you want to change your results, change your thoughts."

But I've found that if you make it your main goal to change your thoughts from sheer willpower and habit, it doesn't ever really stick like it should. And it doesn't really elevate and accelerate results like you'd hoped. Why?

Because Behavior is just an echo of Belief.

Your beliefs drive your thoughts. Your thoughts drive your feelings. Your thoughts and feelings drive your declarations. Your thoughts, feelings and declarations drive your actions. And your actions drive your results. The starting point of this whole cascade isn't thoughts. It's what you really believe deep down inside! So how do you tap into that and make the necessary adjustments?

On this episode of the Positioned to Prosper podcast, we'll dig into what it really means to go back to the place of Belief to restart the cascade, so you can be seeing better results in your life . . . Biblically. I'll also be sharing three practical things you should be doing every single day to ensure that you start from the place of Belief every single time. So if you're ready to jump into it, grab your Bible, your journal and a pen, and . . . Let's Go!

The Four Questions pdf: Want to grab ahold of the worksheet I mentioned in this episode that lists The Four Questions you can ask God when you want to see better results but you don't know what to do next? Go here to grab it and I'll send it right to your inbox.
