Please stop training your dog to be leash reactive. What you where told is wrong, what you read is wrong, and what you are doing is wrong. You are actually training your dog to be leash reactive.

What you are doing is reinforcing a certain behavior, and when the dog is being leash reactive, that is what you are reinforcing, that is what you are telling the dog to keep doing more of.

So learn how to properly punish the unwanted behaviors and THEN you can do the positive stuff.
