It's not much of a surprise that the New York Jets lost to the New England Patriots, it's more about what it looked like in the 42-10 loss on Sunday.

Let's face reality, the New York Jets (through trades and injuries) have seen their roster get gutted and are in a glorified tank to secure the best possible spot in the 2026 NFL Draft. So when that roster steps on the field against perhaps the best team in the AFC, this result feels some what expected.

Yet, allowing the Patriots to score touchdowns on their first six posessions and watching Drake Maye sit down midway through the 3rd quarter isn't exactly what you want to be seeing as a Jets fan.

This is the Jets reality. A gutted football team that doesn't really belong on the field against the Patriots (or most teams for that matter). And luckily, for everyone involved, there's just one more to go.
