The Minnesota Wild picked up a 3-1 win against the Toronto Maple Leafs to improve to 2-0 on their 5 game road trip. The Wild started the scoring with a goal from Marat Khusnutdinov to make it 1-0 in the first. Jared Spurgeon added a Power Play goal to make it 2-0. William Nylander scored in the 3rd to cut the lead to 2-1, but Marcus Foligno scored an empty netter to seal the scoring and preserve the 3-1 win. Filip Gustavsson snapped a stretch of sluggish starts by stopping 31 of 32 shots, and the Wild won the special teams battle and blocked 22 shots en route to the win. The Wild are at Montreal tomorrow for their next game.
