The Minnesota Wild picked up another win to start the 2024-25 season as they beat the Toronto Maple Leafs 2-1 in Overtime. Matt Boldy scored in Overtime to seal the win, on a feed from Jared Spurgeon after he beat Max Domi to a loose puck in the defensive zone. Ryan Hartman scored to get things started in the first period. The Maple Leafs got the equalizer with time winding down in the first and the game was tied 1-1 heading into the first intermission. Both teams played stingy defense all night and limited chances through the final 2 periods. Filip Gustavsson stopped 27 of 28 shots in net for the Wild. The Wild were 0/3 on the Power Play and 1/2 on the Penalty Kill. Up next is the Los Angeles Kings on Tuesday night at Xcel Energy Center.
