The Minnesota Wild picked up a 7-2 win over Chicago in one of their final preseason tune ups and final preseason game at Xcel Energy Center. Jared Spurgeon scored twice in his return to the lineup after losing most of last season to injury. Kirill Kaprizov, Jakub Lauko, Marco Rossi, Joel Eriksson Ek and Freddy Gaudreau all scored, as the Wild pulled away from the Blackhawks with a 5 goal second period. The Wild were 2/4 on the Power Play and 3/4 on the Penalty Kill to back Filip Gustavsson, who stopped 19 of 21 shots in net for the Wild. The Wild play at Chicago on Friday, and most importantly of all, avoided any injuries to their regulars. Matt Boldy could potentially suit up on Friday as he progresses in his return from a lower body injury suffered earlier in the preseason.
