The Minnesota Wild picked up an impressive road win over the Colorado Avalanche by a score of 3-1 Monday. The win improved the Wild to 28-15-4 and 17-5-3 on the road. The Wild started the scoring with a goal from Jake Middleton to take a 1-0 lead in the first period. After the Avs tied the score, the Wild got two third period goals from Yakov Trenin and Brock Faber to take a 3-1 lead in the first 4 minutes of the period. Marc-Andre Fleury was superb, stopping 26 of 27 shots in net, and the Wild Penalty Kill was perfect against the Avs potent Power Play. The Wild host Utah on Thursday for their next game.
