The Minnesota Wild were pushed to the brink of elimination after losing Game 5 in Vegas 3-2 in Overtime. The Wild had what looked like the go ahead goal from Ryan Hartman with 1:15 remaining in the 3rd period, but after a review for a kicking motion, Vegas challenged for offsides and it was determined that Gustav Nyquist came in offsides and the goal was waived off. In the overtime period the Golden Knights got the outright win on a goal by Jack Eichel. The Wild trailed 1-0 after a shorthanded goal by the Golden Knights in the 1st period before Kirill Kaprizov scored his 5th goal of the series to tie the score at 1-1. The Golden Knights took a 2-1 lead later in the 1st on Mark Stone's 1st goal of the series and held that lead until Matt Boldy scored his 5th goal of the series to tie the score in the 3rd. Brett Howden scored 4 minutes into OT to give the Golden Knights a 3-2 series lead and a chance to close the Wild out in 6 on Thursday.
