James Monroe dropped out of college to join the Continental Army, fighting alongside Washington in some of the most famous fights of the Revolution.  From there, he became qualified, immensely qualified to take over the White House.  And the nation agreed, giving him 80% of the vote the first term, and winning a nearly unanimous victory for his 2nd term!  The country was feeling on top-of-the-world, but the future would be filled with challenges, many of them going back to this very President.
