Cameron & Jonathan share some beers with Eric from Modicum Brewing Company in Altoona, WI.
Modicum's mission is to provide a world-class beer drinking experience for the adventurous beer drinker by brewing refined, elegant, well-constructed beers that showcase complexity, subtlety, and nuance.
While the perception of what an adventurous drinker is has changed over the years, Eric likes the adventure to be in the complexity of the beer while letting the beer speak for itself.
A former audio engineer, self-proclaimed nerd, and punk rock music fan, Eric prides himself on forging Modicum's path in his own way!

Cameron & Jonathan share some beers with Nick from Ahnapee Brewery in Green Bay, WI.
Ahnapee Brewery was originally making beer in the mid-nineteenth century. But some history and beer lovers from Algoma, WI revived the name and brought brewing back to town.
Nick loves the two sides of brewing: traditional beers and creative ones. Ahnapee Breweries expansion to a much larger taproom in Suamico allows him to pursue more of each, since starting in a small two stall garage on the shores of Lake Michigan.
I'll be in the garage!

Cameron & Jonathan share some beers with Bill from Hinterland Brewery in Green Bay, WI.
Hinterland - the land beyond; the unexplored. Bill really took this mantra to heart on his journey to opening a brewery. Whether trying to make it as a rockstar, editor of BEER: The Magazine, backcountry snowboarding, or brewery owner, Bill has definitely carved his own path.
Hinterland sits across the street to one of the most iconic stadiums in all of professional sports - Lambeau Field. They still bring their ski lodge, beer hall feel that has become synonymous with Hinterland Brewery, just in a much bigger space with much better views.

Cameron & Jonathan share some beers with Bobby from McFleshman’s Brewing Company in Appleton, WI.
Bobby’s one for the classics...German & Irish Beer classics, that is. But Bobby didn’t just add the “Mc” on the front of his last name to make his brewery sound more Irish. His wife’s last name is McCoy, and she’s Irish. So McFleshman’s partners their German and Irish heritages nicely.
Bobby has worn many hats, from pig farmer to astrophysicist to brewer. Not sure if anyone has ever compared brewing beer to rocket science, but it can’t hurt to have a rocket scientist makingthe beer.

Cameron & Jonathan share a couple beers with Henry from MobCraft Beer in Milwaukee, WI.
When the mob puts their heads together, they can create some pretty great, and super unique, beers. MobCraft is a uniquely crowdsourced brewery. This means they get ideas for future beers from the average person. They decide what to brew next by a vote of the people.
Get ready for Weird Fest - the MobCraft annual anniversary celebration where they bring weird entertainment to an event and invite weird people or at least those who embrace the weird, and then they brew weird beer.

Cameron & Jonathan share a couple beers with Mark from Drekker Brewing Company in Fargo, ND.
Drekker. To drink. Getting together with your friends for a drink. It’s not the actual act of doing it, but rather what happens when you do gather. That’s what Drekker wants is to create that experience as you gather with friends around Drekker beer.
And Drekker beer isn’t like normal beer. They want to shock you. They want you to feel something when you drink their beer. And not like the “I’ve had too many beers” kind of feeling. But an emotional, strong, memorable experience.
We discuss the movie. We touch on the weirdness of Fargo. We chat about valhalla - the great Viking beer hall in the sky.

Cameron & Jonathan share a couple beers with Alex from Noble Roots Brewing Company in Green Bay, WI.
Alex gives us a glimpse into this brewing operation that has deep family roots. It all started with a couple family trips to some major European beer countries. Their tastes were opened to so many great new things, they came home and wanted to try making those beers.
Alex shares a lesson on what not to do in your mom’s kitchen when homebrewing. But getting kicked out of the kitchen was an opportunity to grow the operation.
The dream to open a brewery was one that kept playing over and over in their minds. After entering a few local homebrew events and competitions, some ‘professional’ brewers encourage Alex and family to just make the jump.
Jump they did!

Cameron & Jonathan share some beers with a whole crew from Hillsboro Brewing Company in Hillsboro, WI.
Snapper, Dave, and Kim each share a bit of the story of how this brewery was revitalized to bring back a brewery to this small central Wisconsin town after the original Hillsboro Brewery closed about 70 years ago.
They're all very passionate about their community. And if Snapper keeps buying buildings at the rate he has, he'll probably own the whole town soon enough. Dave hands Snapper a compliment saying he can really find a diamond in the rough. His vision sees past what's immediately in front of him.
In their own words, "If we're nothing else, we're unconventional."

Cameron & Jonathan share some beers with Tim Pauly from Broken Bat Brewing Company in Milwaukee, WI.
As you may have guessed, this brewery has a very evident baseball theme - from the beer names to the brewery decor, and even to the beer collaborations with former MLB Player, Tim Dillard.
Pauly may even name drop a few players who have stopped in to Broken Bat for a pint or two, a time or two.
Some breweries went the heavy metal route or the big beard feel, but there was never any question that baseball was going to be theirs.
“In baseball, when a bat breaks, it’s something unexpected. And that’s essentially what our beer is going to be like, what the brewery experience is going to be: something different, unexpected.”
-Tim & Dan, Broken Bat Founders
We noticed one thing they were missing, though, was a 7th Inning Stretch. It’s been proposed!
BONUS: Tim boldly predicts Brewers finish the 2021 MLB Season with 89 wins to take the division.
Happy Opening Day!
