This week, I have the honor of introducing you to Memphis’s gift to the world and a true national treasure. This beautiful woman is an award winning multi-hyphenate artist of firsts who used rejection as a launching pad for inspiration. Mrs. Ruby O’Gray is known and loved for her character creations and storytelling ability. She has written 72 and a half plays over her 50+year career and doesn’t plan on stopping anytime soon. 

In this episode, Mrs. Ruby reminds us that we can live a full life right where we are. She’s shown us through her actions that regardless of the cards your dealt, you’re perspective and pursuit will determine your outcome.

This weeks podcast guest is a wealth of knowledge and a breathe of fresh air.  It took a while for our schedules to connect but life has a way of bringing you what you need at the right time. 

Meet Elena.  She’s a Canadian born singer/songwriter who currently lives between London and New York.  In the episode, she shares the benefits of trusting your gut and being your authentic self. 

When asked what was her greatest joy, Elena’s reply was seeing people she loves flourish, including herself.  Her response broke a chain of neglect of self and uplifting of others that has held valuable real estate in my “selfless” heart.  In that moment, I needed to hear every word of wisdom she shared. 

In this episode, Elena states that  “your calling is pulling you on a path cut out for you and it’s creating a way for you to be supported along that journey.”

I’m excited to introduce you to a dear friend of mine, Rob Walker. He’s a self proclaimed country boy who’s determined to uplift others and bring forth positive change. 

Rob is an entrepreneur who’s all about paving a way for your talents and purpose.  He believes in investing in our children and in being a part of a continuous support system that inspires people to make their dreams a reality.

Rob’s family businesses name was inspired by his mom Lin Walker. Her giving heart and selfless deeds created the framework Linwalk Creative Solutions. Linwalk’s goal is to maximize disadvantaged youth and adults success in society by using creative solutions to provide life skills coaching, job placement, and the foundation needed to strengthen relationships.

Rob believes everybody has to matter and that the success of our children will determine everyone’s future. 

In this episode, Rob reminds us to tap into our best selves and extend a helping hand to those on the journey to betterment.

Do any of you have that cool cousin who checks all the boxes and crosses all the t’s? 

That one relative who will answer the phone no matter how busy she is? That older cousin who’s approach to life you dig?!  I do and her name is Dr. Candace Wakefield a.k.a Dr. Candy. 

Candace is a person who enters a room with a smile on her face and lots of positive energy. She’s a self proclaimed practical jokester and a lover of life.  She believes in living fully, taking risks and saying yes more often than no. 

In this episode, Candace shares funny stories of her “comedian” son JP, her journey to finding her career as a pediatric dentist, and how the loss of her job ignited a fire that lead to her becoming her own boss.

Today I met a national treasure. The wisdom I received will save me a lifetime of unnecessary pain. 

Meet Mrs. Minnie.  She’s  a gift from heaven and a wealth of knowledge. 

She’s an activist, a trailblazer, a doer and a fearless leader. I don’t doubt for one second that my present capabilities aren’t tied to the work of this gem of a human. 

As you listen to this episode, inhale her humanity, her wear-withal and her self respect. 

Life is precious and our time here isn’t long. Mrs. Minnie’s episode reminds me to make the most of it and never stop until I’ve reached my destination.

In this episode, we meet a man who has a deep admiration for family and continuous joy to share with others in his community through his career path. Meet Kenneth, Hank’s younger brother. He’s the kind of guy you call when you need an encouraging word and/or a trusting ear. Kenneth reminds us that blessings come wrapped in life lessons, family and present moments. Bask in the gift of today for tomorrow’s not promised.

Once my Mom held her first grandchild in her arms, she was smitten. Since then, she periodically reminds me that “you never know love until you become a grandma.”  After becoming an aunt a.k.a. TeeTee, I created my own saying, “a child can teach you how to love” and my next guest absolutely has. 

Meet Connor Andrew Logan. He is the best gift my sister ever shared with me. He’s on my short list of dream guest and you will soon find out why.  He is wise, funny, creative and a lover of the Lord hence the title of this episode he penned himself. Connor is the kind of person who makes you want to be your best self.  He’s kind, sincere and very aware of the energy he puts out into the world. I hope you allow this eleven year old’s perspective of life to  help you shift your energy into constant gratitude. 

I met a soul sister today via conversation. I felt like I had been exposed and outed by my occasional negative thoughts and small thinking. She reminded that sitting in unhappiness and wallowing in comfort will leave you longing for the more you deserve.
