Willed Wednesday: In this episode we talk about negative thoughts.  Did you know that scientist say we have any where from 12,000-60,000 thoughts per day and 95% of them are repetitive thoughts.  What is worse is that 80-85% are negative.  Ouch!  You can do something about it though.

Summer Series Pt. 5 - Leveling Up: Conscious Development 

Motivation is important to achievement but in this episode I challenge you with a different way of looking at motivation.  Motivation alone will not cut it but linked with ability and prompts, you can change behaviors that you may have failed at previously.  It is by using the formula, B=MAP as mapped out by Dr, BJ Fogg in his book Tiny Habits.  To turn your habits into behaviors you can use the ABC method, which includes: Anchoring the existing routine to the Behavior or the new tiny habit.  Then having a Celebration each time you do the habit.

Skills of Change needed for Tiny Habits are behavior crafting, self-insight, process, context and mindset. 

The Process has 7 steps 

1. clarify the aspiration 

2. explore your behavior options

3. match the specific behavior 

4. start tiny

5. find a good prompt 

6. celebrate your success

7. expand on your learning or make iterative changes if needed

Why is empathy relevant to you:

1. We need to be an empathetic society.
2. We want adults and youth to be empathetic.
3. Research says from 1979-2009 empathy showed a 48% decline in the United States.
4. 92% of CEOs think they are empathetic but employees don't agree.
5. 90% of employees believe empathy is a value they want in a company. 
6. Baby Boomers, Gen X, and Millennial are willing to leave a company that is not empathetic.
