We join 2023 in true PowerLane fashion with a two-part episode with my friend, colleague, and amazing human, Dannielle Larkin. We explore how children, art, and storytelling are compelling life teachers, why truly listening and holding space in times of turmoil can be a gift, and how trusting ourselves to learn from challenges is critical for personal and communal growth. 

In Part 1, Dannielle shares life experience and lessons from her youth, as a non-profit founder, a vocal advocate for the arts and active transportation, and especially as a parent. In Part 2, we dig  into our shared anthropology roots, explore the reasons cities are formed and shaped, and the benefits to each individual when we work collectively, bring our ideas to the table, and trust one another. 

Some key take aways from these two episodes include: 

·      That, ultimately, every person wants to be seen and heard.

·      That where we put our energy and focus defines our experience.

·      That perspectives and experiences shared through storytelling builds humanity.
