Dianne is revolutionising yoga by educating yoga instructors around the world on how to make their classes welcoming for all kinds of practitioners. Change Agent in Modern Yoga, Dianne’s commitment to increasing diversity in yoga has been recognized in her work with Pennington’s, Gaiam, and the Yoga & Body Image Coalition, as well as in speaking engagements at Princeton, Duke, University of Buffalo and UC Berkeley on Yoga, Race, and Diversity. Her writing is published in Yoga and Body Image Volume 1, Yoga Renegades, and Yes Yoga Has Curves. Master Yoga Teacher Dianne is the author of the international best selling book, Yoga for Everyone, co-author of Yoga Where You Are, and a frequent contributor to Yoga International, DoYou, Yoga Girl, and Omstars. She has been featured in publications such as The Guardian, Huffington Post, Cosmopolitan, Mashable, and People.

Reimagining futures and living without limitations starts with us. So where do we start? We chat to Researcher, Creative and Business owner Beverley. Beverley is a full-time PhD researcher based within the School of English, at the University of Sheffield. She is doing a creative writing doctorate that delves into identity, particularly Black British, Caribbean, and African descendants. Her research also focusses on identity through the prism of trauma, double consciousness, homosexuality, family secrets, slavery, the supernatural, the mystical and Afro-futurism. 

 

She has been published in several magazines, including Bad Form and the Dream Catcher’s Magazine. Her poetry was exhibited in the ‘Being Human’ national festival November 2021: His House to Our Home - 3D virtual exhibition by Public Engagement Sheffield | art.spaces | KUNSTMATRIX. She has guest lectured on Octavia Butler, spoken to an international audience for the Daring to Dare developmental programme and was a speaker at the University of Sheffield English Colloquium 2022.

 

She is currently the CEO of BDT Creatives, a grant writing and editing company.
