We talk sacredness and circles with Ira Calixto. Ira is a Dance therapist, sound and energetic healer, born in Brazil of an indigenous native mother, as medicine-midwife and a Brazilian father of African roots. She grew with the traditions and teachings of herbs, prayers, songs, drums and dancing. Conscious of the nature and healing power of the plants, of the earth and all the elements. She arrived in Mayan lands Mexico in 1994. From that time until now she remains in love with these magical Mayan lands, where she connected with indigenous teachings, traditions, worldviews and ancestral philosophies. Initiated as a Guardian of Sacred Fire and the Cacao Ceremony, she runs the holistic centre Casa Mama Yemi in Mexico.

Celest is a geek that loves anatomy, neuroscience and biomechanics. She miraculously acquired her BSc (Hons) in physiotherapy in 2009 despite dropping out of school at 16. She found learning at school really tough, however now credits her ability to make complex concepts easy to grasp, down to her learning struggles. She runs regular education based workshops where she takes current scientific research, anecdotal evidence from senior healthcare providers and applies them to movement disciplines. She's currently studying neuroscience and learning how it can be applied to improve health.

Isaac creates empathetic and thought-provoking work rooted in magical realism and Africanfuturism with a focus on themes of childhood, memory, and mental health. His impact in the hip hop theatre and contemporary dance world has been multifaceted; working as a performer, voice artist, scriptwriter, and marketer for esteemed dance theatre artists and companies. His writing has appeared in the form of features, reviews, and poetry in publications such as Lolwe, The Stage, RAD's Dance Gazette, BlackInk, Poetry Birmingham Literary Journal, and more. Isaac is a member of Body Politic’s board of directors and is a mental health advocate through Mind charity’s Young Black Men steering group. Isaac is currently studying an MA in creative arts and mental health at Queen Mary University of London.
