* TRAILERS: Gifted X-Men series trailer for Fox,
* Doug Liman reveals why he left Gambit. He says he couldn't find a way to personally connect to the material. Liman directed Tom Cruise in The Edge of Tomorrow and will movie on to Justice League Dark for Warner Bros.
* Speaking of Justice League Dark, Guillermo Del Toro was originally attached to direct. Del Toro failed to campaign for a second Hellboy sequel but Hellboy creator Mike Mignola has announced that a reboot will be coming soon that will star David Harbour of Stranger Things as the titular character with Game of Thrones' Neil Marhshall in the director's chair. Actor Jeffey Tambour who starred in the first two movies tweeted angrily to Mignola about loyalty to Del Toro, Ron Perlman considering they "made the franchise" but Mignola is still moving forward in a new and R Rated direction.
* With shows like Will and Grace, Full House and The Gilmore Girls all getting reunions, USA has announced that they will revive their original series Psyche in the form of a two-hour movie that will air on the network at the end of this year. All of the original stars will return and it will pick up 3 years after the series finale.
* Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is well on it's way to doing 1 billion worldwide in ticket sales and many have questioned if maybe Marvel Studios has secretly reacquired the Fantastic Four rights since the Watchers appeared in the movie. Kevin Fiege has clarified that it hasn't happened and even though the Marvel Cosmic universe has strong ties to the Fantastic Four there are many characters within the mythology that's rights are shared by both studios.
* James Gunn was asked why Jeff Goldblum was put into the dancing credits of Guardians of the Galaxy to which he replied, The Grandmaster who Jeff is playing is the brother of the Collector that was played by Benecio Del Toro so I figured it was a fun way to connect the movies together.
* The first blockbuster bomb of 2017 will be Guy Ritchie's King Arthur, which is reviled by critics and loved by fans. Ritchie has moved on to talking about his next big project which will be Alladin for Disney. He says he's still trying to figure out the property and hasn't determined whether it'll be a musical or not. He says he took on the movie because his children love the property.
* Early reviews of Alien: Covenant have not been kind but director Sir Ridley Scott says he's in the process of writing the next movie and plans to film in the next 14 months.
* FXX has ordered a Deadpool adult animated series. Donald and Stephen Glover will be the show runners.
* Diane Lane was on Watch What Happens with Andy Cohen and was asked if she could say anything about Justice League and would be better that the Avengers.
* X-Men: New Mutants has taken a huge step forward by casting two well known stars in the roles of Majik and Wolfsbane. Majik will be played by Anna Taylor-Joy of Split and Wolfsbane by Maisie Williams of Game of Thrones.
Star Wars Rebels has done an incredible job of having actors return to voice the characters they portrayed on screen.
* The Rock is rumored to star in his own film as Black Adam for Warner and is also rumored to play the character in the Man of Steel sequel as the lead antagonist. The Rock realizes that Shazam needs to be part of his story to introduce the character and has recommended that Armie Hammer should get the role.
* Frequent Quentin Tarantino and Kevin Smith collaborator Micheal Parks has passed away at age 77.
* Actor Powers Boothe has died at 68. Boothe has had a storied career and has acted in many different roles across all genre of films.
