Our Lone Star story of the day: After failing, in 2007, to well clarify the reach of the Johnson Amendment, the IRS has now joined plaintiffs asking a federal court in Texas to stop enforcement of the horrible restriction on political speech aimed mostly at churches and pastors. Sadly, many have used the un-American LBJ-sponsored legislation as an excuse to conform Christ’s Church to the world instead of working to move to the world to the way of God.
Here is a very good background piece on the Johnson Amendment which was seemingly written by LBJ to frustrate his political opponents.

Our Lone Star story of the day: A natural disaster hit Texas at just the wrong time on the calendar and wrong time of day from our perspective. The disaster is already exposing who are the real adherents of “hate” and our arrogance that we can be “in control.” Some go dark at such times, others reflect the light of Christ that testify to our capability to go good. I want to thank the Christian faith of Tavia Hunt, wife of the owner of the Kansas City Chiefs, for her witness at this terrible time (click to read.). Our Lone Star story of the day: A story from today’s press review demonstrates why Democrats and Republicans are NOT a “uniparty.” On spending, maybe you can make a partial claim on such but it is universal to all elected government, all places. However, on governance, which is often the most important part, the two parties are at very opposite poles.

Our Lone Star story of the day: Leftists can’t make up their minds on whether a baby in the womb is a human being. They want it both ways depending upon the issue of the moment but even if a person, they are consistent in wanting to right to murder the child. It all shows the fundamental failure of situational ethics where there is no set right and wrong. These three stories make the point well without intending so to do:
