Our Lone Star story of the day: Democrat Leftists claim they are trying to “save Democracy,” but at about every policy point they oppose law and ordered government so what are the saving? Nowhere is this more flagrantly hypocritical than on illegal immigration* and also with voting integrity.
*The Left, including Cesar Chavez and his brother, used to claim that this was the rich capitalists exploiting illegals for cheaper labor, harming American citizens. Now the Left campaigns for the illegal cheap, imported labor that takes wage growth from lower income Americans.

Harris coming for an Allred rally in Houston to push the killing of innocent babies in the womb. Meanwhile, Cruz points out how similar are Allred and Harris: They both are running from their very radical records.
This Statesman piece, Democrats highlight abortion in bid to flip Texas Supreme Court seats, demonstrates just how incompetent, ignorant, or just plain biased, are many reporters these days. Reporter Bayliss Wagner writes: “In social media posts, the [Democrat backing] PAC has painted statements like Devine’s 2012 speech as evidence that the incumbent justices can’t be trusted to rule impartially.” But then never sees the hypocrisy of the entire message that Republicans who are openly on one side of the abortion argument are claimed to be unable to “rule impartially” and yet Democrats openly on the other side of the argument are? That should be the main line of questioning of the piece given its context but it is ignored by the reporter.

Our Lone Star story of the day: Friday I explained what an overreach the Texas House Jurisprudence Committee has made in the Roberson death penalty case. Today, Governor Abbott says why; Attorney General Paxton says why, and; even another member of the Texas House says why:
You don’t need to be a lawyer to read these things and you’ll get much more of the actual argument than from press stories.

New poll has Senator Ted Cruz up by 7 points on Democrat Allred. It seems Allred’s support of boys in girls’ sports is breaking undecideds towards Cruz.

Our Lone Star story of the day: Whether guilty or not, the cause celebre of the case of Robert Roberson’s ordered execution has gone off the rails. Media stories and advocate assertions so not tell the full story.
I cannot summarize 40 minutes of analysis here so listen to the show and you’ll hopefully get my point. Skepticism is required from all sides of an issue when trying to find the truth in a fallen world. Here are two of the stories I work from on the show:

Our Lone Star story of the day: A Texas House committee has gone too far in trying to interfere with an official execution in Texas. This is exactly the type of thing Democrats will do for most everything if they win back control of Texas government. Here is an example: State Seeks Recusal of Judge Cornelio in Case of Death Row Inmate Over False Bench Warrant, Secretive Proceedings

In Fox interview, Kamala Harris played (?) dumb over why 70% of Americans believe the country is on the wrong track. She also deflected her failure (in our terms) on the border and illegal immigration. She referenced our “broken immigration system.” Do not be fooled by this, what the Leftist and Democrats mean by broken is limits and enforcement to begin with. Their “fixes” are almost always amnesty and making it easier for near unlimited people to enter the country at any time. That is how you fundamentally transform country – you replace a native majority with a non-native majority.
FBI caught misleading the American people again, to benefit Democrat campaigns. Turns out they cooked the crime numbers, then revised such but did so without announcing the change.

Our Lone Star story of the day: The Cruz / Allred “debate” has an interesting lesson on how even when there is what seems to be hard questioning for both, there is still Leftwing bias in media driven debates. An additional problem with all the political debates is that because the questions come from, and the debate steered by, media members, rarely is there proper focus on the issues that voters actually care the most about. Stories today I used to demonstrate how the press coverage is mostly in minor issues, style, and attack liners than on what is polling as important to voters:

As expected, and hoped, the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals handed Texas a big win for election integrity by stopping Judge Xavier Rodriguez and his last moment rulings against components of SB1. Rodriguez was fairly strongly chastened by the court: “On the eve of elections in Texas, the district court has entered an injunction that impacts how ballots can be handled. It holds unconstitutional a law that has been on the books for over three years, but that the court did not see fit to enjoin until now. The Supreme Court has instructed lower courts not to unduly delay ordering changes to election law until the eve of an election.”
Slandering of Mike Miles by teacher unions and Democrat political operatives in Houston, and elsewhere, shown to be lies and slander.

Our Lone Star story of the day: A new Texas-based poll shows the Cruz vs. Allred race right where I said it should end up – but only if Republicans do well at getting the vote out. Cruz and Allred to face off in Senate race’s only debate tonight. Also, “Is Ted Cruz Blowing His Re-Election Race in Texas?” – don’t buy it, this is a part of a trend of stories that began a couple of weeks ago trying to claim the Cruz has gone silent on conservatism and I simply haven’t seen that to be the case.

The news of Texas covered today includes:
Our Lone Star story of the day: Three big court decisions affect Texas in different ways.
First, the Fifth Circuit has overruled a contempt charge and fine against Texas over its foster care system; more importantly the court has removed activist, biased Judge Janis Jack from the case! This is a huge win for sanity and proper judicial behavior as well as for Texas.
Second, the very unreliable Judge Xavier Rodriguez has ruled against more Texas election integrity rules found in SB1. Whether or not the 5th Circuit will put some of this on hold as it has previous rulings from this judge remains to be seen. Rules on voter assistance have existed way before GOP control mostly to protect people from being coerced to vote a certain way by a spouse, employer, or other party with power over them
Three, Texas’ investigatory law that has been on the books for over a century has been ruled unconstitutional. The ruling is correct in my opinion but complicates the Attorney General’s ability to investigate matters such as assisting illegal immigration.

Lubbock County Commissioner Jason Corley tells about finally passing his “game room” regulations this morning but not until the fake Republican county judge, Bowtie Bully Parrish, mucked it up with amendments. Note that it was the two Democrats who opposed it: Precinct 3’s Flores and Judge Curtis Parrish.

Polling and campaign update includes:
Attorney General Paxton’s lawsuit against Travis County’s outside taxpayer funded voter registration program booted out of federal court – a win for Paxton. The Texas Tribune’s story is a hatchet job of journalism as it completely leaves out the issue of the firm that was hired being linked to partisan efforts to only enhance Democrat voter registration.

Our Lone Star story of the day: Should the State of Texas be in the gambling business? The Texas Lottery contributes very little to public education despite being sold to the public as a big funding mechanism for much. I believe that the social costs of the lottery far outweigh any benefits and that it should be recommended for closure by the Sunset process – but don’t place a bet that it will be as too many profit from it.

National media has picked up on the Texas Voter ID story I have been covering (listen to yesterday’s show here) and frankly it is clear that the elections director should be removed for being so stupid as to not advise the use of a provisional ballot in the cases at the root of the controversy.
A big story showing just how radical are today’s Texas Democrats – they are anti-American revolutionaries, or at least their front groups often are.

The news of Texas covered today includes:
Our Lone Star story of the day: I was right in my speculation about the Denton County story on letting those with non-citizens state ID’s vote but only partly. Now that we’ve learned more, it is much worse. In my informed opinion the Secretary of State’s elections chief is either too stupid to do the job or is biased for illegal voting. She needs to be removed by Secretary of State Nelson. Anyone with a brain would know that the solution to the legitimate problem is to use a Provisional Ballot, not a regular ballot.
