Our Lone Star story of the day: Political goals trump justice for much of the state’s leftwing media as well as many politicians – a sinful shame. Headlines such as “Ken Paxton is Not Vindicated” and “This is Ken Paxton’s Texas” show the media going nuts over the dropping the spurious charges levied against Paxton way back in 2015.
There never was a case worthy of a trial and once the special prosecutors had a firm court date, a thing they’d worked for years to avoid, they dropped the charges. See enough story links to the Paxton ordeal to be among the most informed here.

Our Lone Star story of the day: A MUST LISTEN SHOW! For well over a decade, I have covered the charges lodged against Ken Paxton over the so-called “securities fraud,” which was never fraud by the way.
All that time, the evidence has shown it all to be a political revenge issue and I have said that the reason it didn’t come to trial was because it was being used by Paxton’s enemies as a political weapon.
I said that the case would fall apart on appeal even if a guilty verdict was obtained before a Democrat jury. It didn’t even come to that – as soon as a judge finally set it for trial, the case, which was nothing to begin with, fell apart and the prosecutors dropped all charges today.
I’ll give you a full refresher going back to 2014 with some items as far back as 2004. Here are some, not all, of the stories I reference: (for story list and links, click here: https://prattontexas.com/2024/03/26/paxton-charges-dropped-ill-give-more-in-1-hour-today-than-youll-get-from-all-the-state-press-pratt-on-texas-3-26-2024/

Our Lone Star story of the day: Leftist “wokeness,” a common mental and moral deficiency, will not go away even with Texas history. The Marxist-style attempts to rewrite Texas history continue with a new group being hosted by U. in Fort Worth – that’s TCU which has long been said to be where the “C,” as in Christian, is silent and now maybe the same should be said of the “T” for Texas!

The court ping pong on SB4, Texas’ new border bill, continues with one panel of the 5th Circuit seeming to step on the work of another. Appeals court raises doubts of legality of SB4. More, from a Leftist perspective.

Texas’ Permanent School Fund pulls $8.5 billion from ESG advocating investment fund BlackRock.
Why would a Texas public secondary school have lessons on CRT-based political thought such as the having immigration law is oppressive? They do and they have many other lessons on political rotgut that belongs, if anywhere, in voluntary higher education not compulsory public education. Where would secondary and elementary school teachers even get trained in this political-based curricula?
That is the real story that matters that others have missed in the story of the Texas Tech professor suspended over his pro-Hamas, anti-Israel statements. The real story is that TTU, and other public, colleges of education have profs teaching “decolonial studies,” “ethnography,” and studies on teachers “teach about activist and student movements.”
The problem is not that Tech has an Israel hating professor, it’s that it has such programs, not over in the political science department, but in the college which exists to train primary and secondary teachers. This is a window into how extremely political, and Leftist/Marxist, the teacher training programs in the state colleges have become.

Our Lone Star story of the day: If you are Hispanic, or any other so-called “minority,” and do not follow your Democrat Party “masters” orders to vote as they instruct, you are akin to a “Jew for Hitler” in NAZI Germany! That is the opinion of a Democrat Texas Congressman and it’s an example of the racism and bigotry that underpins much political action from the Left in the United States.

Wildfires lead to the predictable: Calls for more government regulation for utilities; the cost of which get passed on to you and the benefits of which are generally non-existent. Even worse, the contents of the story do not even support the contention that more regulation would help.
