An ugly night in the US as the CPI number came in hotter than expected, with a 0.1% rise (a 0.1% fall was expected). US markets responded poorly to the increase in inflation as interest rate woes kick back in. The Dow Jones fell 1276 points (-3.94%), with the S&P 500 down 4.23% and the Nasdaq falling 5.16%.

SPI Futures this morning are down 156 points (-2.23%), wiping off all the gains from the start of the week and some.
