Respect means different things to individuals. By defination respect means that you accept somebody for who they are, even if they are different from you or you don't agree with them. Respect does not have to come naturally. It is something you learn and for many was taught at a very young age. It can build and strenghten relationships.It is a very important component of both personal identity and interpersonal relationship. Disrespect appears to be spreading which can lead to breakups, broken homes and even violence.

 The Queen of Soul Aretha Franklin had a signature song R-E-S-P-E-C-T. Yet for some reason today we are seeing so much disrespect til it is becoming crazy. Such is happening in homes, the community, the workplace and in our politics. What happen? Let's talk about it. What are we teaching our children and our future generation as it relates to respect? As Christians it appears that many let the cares of the world and others get the best of them. Often times it leaves one at a dismay, stressed out and not wanting to call on God.  As a child, I recall hearing a saying, "If you are going to worry don't pray." "If you are going to pray don't worry.' However don't do both. As one worry, stress out and terry over things one have no contol over it will destroy or damper your peace. So if we are to love and embrace others where do we draw the line and still maintain our peace of mind?

When it comes to safety in America and around the world many are struggling and living in fear as it relates to what is taking place. In the media we are frequently being told of mass shootings, murders and gun violence. As a member of society what is one to do? Many have reported living in fear. It is becoming a challenge to go to public places. There also appear to be a division as it relates to races, cultures and politics in America. So what can we do to be safe? In the United States around 40% of individuals have admitted to once dating a coworker.
