There are times when individuals may experience trials and tribulations. This can often lead to symptoms of depression. It appears that many individuals struggle with understanding mental health issues. It is also reported that many individuals lack awareness and resources as to obtaining assistance. With that being said there are also individuals that present with symptoms of  mental heath yet engage in substance use. There appears to be a link between substance abuse/use and mental health. The mental health issue can be depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety or even PTSD just to name a few. When the two are combined one may be dealing with a co-occuring disorder or dual diagnosis.both have their own unique symptoms and may affect how one may function on a day to day basis.

Join me as I along with others as we explore this matter. It may not appear to be an issue for some yet others are struggling as they are trying to find assistance for loveones or perhaps themselves. In a few days many will be celebrating the 4th of July. Such has 244 years of tradition behind it. It is also considered to be one of the most cherished holidays. Many call such Independence Day. However what does independence mean to you? 

As a society many have become very reliant on other people. Becoming independent is so important as we grow. Not only as a nation but as a person.

In life one will go through times when things will happen or just come along to disrupt ones routine. It could be the birth of a child, death of a loved one, loss or change or job or a breakup or the start of a relationship. When such happens it can throw a person out of whack or perhaps off track.

It is believed that many individuals were taught in school how to manage disruptions. I also commend teachers, babysitters and parents as they often do their best to guide individuals as it relates to distractions. Once an individual grow up how are they to thrive or become successful in the the face of personal disruptions?

Today's show is designed to provide clarification as to the term, "Pay It Forward." Such is an old term that is used as an expression for describing the beneficiary of a good deed repaying it to others instead of the one who did the good deed to him. It has been said that, "We are debtors to all people if God has given us a gift that he is willing to give to all who call upon him."

Many individuals appear to be confused as it relates to this term as one may believe that the good deeds in obedience to God are payback to God when Paul says those good deeds are a very work of grace, not the payback for grace. And lets that a look at Psalm 116:12 "What shall I render to the Lord for all of his beneifts to me?" So let's talk about it.

When it comes to being a father such is a role that should not be taken lightly. Father's Day is approaching. Many men will be honored in various ways however many men are still struggling as to what it takes to be a father not to mention being a father that is also a Man of God.

If you are graduating or the parent or caregiver of one that is graduating such can be very stressful. It can be the happiest day of ones life as well as one of the most depressing day as such can create anxiety and fear, No matter the transition many individuals have no ideal as to what to do next.

As school is coming to an end for some. The next chapter of ones life is about to begin. For those graduating from high school, trade school or college I would like to say congradulations.
