  • Sexuality In The Church Part 2
Are we as Believers becoming so deep in our word that we are neglecting or perhaps hurting God's People? As I was researching this topic I noticed there there are many concepts, views and perceptions as it relates to how Sexuality is perceived between Catholics, Christians and Muslims. This is just to name a few religions.
Many believe the Bible to be the book of instructions before leaving earth. My question is as many individuals read the Bible and fellowship in their place of worship why are we losing so many people? Is love, sex, understanding the flesh and sexuality being addressed in the church? Are we educating, healing or hurting our people? In some cases perhaps traumatizing others? This topic as been a very interesting topic as we need a better understanding.

  • The Importance Of Family
This week many individuals will be celebrating Thanksgiving with their family. There are others that may not be able to be with their family for whatever reason. There are also those that do not celebrate holidays. For myself, after the passing of my mother in 2008 the word family took on a different meaning. So my question to you is how do you define family? Many individuals are very familuar with the term Nuclear and Extended Family. Yet while preparing for the show I learned that we may be related by blood or marriage to an individual and spending quality time with them this week appears to be the norm. Others would say that loyalty is what makes an individual family. Family is very important for a number of reason. It is first known to be the single most important influence in a child's life. Family also is where many learned values, morals and bad habits.
If you have a functional or dysfunction family getting through the holidays can create anxiety and other emotions. So today join me and other callers as we discuss the importance of family. To join in on the conversation call 516 387-1914 11/19/18 at 12pm Pacific. Let's bring back the importance of family

  • God Can Handle His Business
With all that is going on in the world today, many are starting to doubt, fear and panic. One thing we must do is get back into our word and remember God is Real. We must get out of his way and remember that God is in control. The Bible is clear when it states that God's will happens exactly as He purposes. With that being said, "God Can Handle His Business."

  • Effective Discipline Techniques For Children
When it comes to parenting there is no such thing as the perfect parent. Most individuals parent as they were raised. However when it comes to hitting, spanking and corporal punishment on children does that really work or change the child's behavior? Attitudes are changing and abuse is abuse. Yet many parents are getting in trouble with Child Protective Services which children are being removed from their homes and parents are facing legal, financial problems and yes having to take classes for their reaction as it relates to perhaps the methods one chose to discipline thier child.
When is comes to discipline for children, the age and development of the child must be taken into consideration. Discipline is also about teaching and not punishment. When a child acts out or break a rule there should be consequences. Yet how should a parent react?
According to a survey many adults reported being spanked, hit, received corporal punishment or was called names by a parent. Twenty years later according to The American Academy Of Pediatrics On Spanking Children they believe don't do it ever. They have found that aversive discipline strategies including all forms of corporal punishment and yelling at or shaming children can cause issues in children even later in life. What they found is that the brain does not grow and develophitting as well once there has been physical punishment to the point where it can cause learning problems, problems with vocabulary and memory, as well as aggressive behaviors. So again with children's behavior becoming more challenging what can a parent do?

  • Sexuality In The Church
With all that we have going on in the world today, why is sexuality such a big deal for the church today? It appears that there is still a conflict as it relates to same sex marriages, transgender individuals and the ordination of one that is openly gay. This issue has led to controversies to determine if books should be banned from stores, donations withheld from charities, as well as church memberships. It has alsosplit families as well as caused pastors to step down and forced members as well as individuals wanting to serve God to not feel comfortable in church.
As a Believer what can we do as it relates to this topic? While gathering information for the show I came across a statement that read, " The homosexuality issue is not about "them" but about you and about us." I found that statement to be very powerful.
What is your understanding of sexuality, sex, love, gender and ones faith? Are we making moral judgements or acting out of fear, hate, or lack of knowledge? Join Pastor Daniel Estell and I as we discuss this topic. Live 11/06/18 at 11:30am.

  • Sexual Trauma In Males
Sexual abuse is unwanted sexual activity, with perpetrators using force, making threats or taking advantage of victims not able to or perhaps one did not give consent. Most victims and perpetrators know each other.immediate reaction to sexual abuse include shock, fear or disbelief. Long term symptoms include anxiety, fear or post traumatic stress disorder. Such may also have a lasting impact on ones relationship with other, self esteem or one's sexuality.
It appears that we frequently hear a lot about sexual abuse when the victim is a female in gender. However what about male victims? Yes even a male can be sexually assaulted. In the wake of what has been going on in the media more men especially in Hollywood are coming forward with their stories regarding sexual harassment and sexual abuse. Research indicates that one in six men experienced sexual abuse at some point during childhood, and this is probably a low estimate. It also happens in jail, prison, military, school, churches as well as in their own homes. Males both young and old suffer in silence. And those that do not obtain help risk exposure to greater physical health issues, mental health issues  and social dysfunctions.
Let's end the silence. Help us out there. Prevention is also a must. We have to stop ignoring this issue. We also have to educate our male children as they can be just as much a victim as females.

  • Unifying Against Hate
Based on today news and current events we are becoming flooded with information as it relates to the disrespect, fear, harassment, and even death of others. It has even become dangerous to attend family events and to even worship. As a nation what can we do? Many fear what they don't understand. And the treatment, entitlement and disrespect can no longer be tolerated.
Love can overpower hate. I am a true believer that what is in an individual will eventually manifest. However ones belief, attitudes and perception is often based on ones experience or what they were taught. Knowledge is power. And we must do better.
To hate requires a great deal of energy. And ignorance is bliss. Our people will also perish due to lack of knowledge because thou has rejected knowledge. Let's join together in unity.
If you are concerned, afraid to attend your place of worship, afraid to go to the store, or school, or perhaps packing let's talk about it. Action specks louder than words. This issue is deeper than the color of ones skin, or ones social economical status or political view. And we can not blame everything on one's mental health.  Join Pastor Daniel Estell and I as we discuss this topic. To hate is a choice as well as to love. Strengths comes in numbers with unity we will obtain the ability to understand. For those how desire to continue to hate is it really worth it?

  • Breast Cancer Awareness 2018
The month of October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. It is an effort to raise awareness and reduce the stigma of breast cancer through education on symptoms and treatment methods. Breast cancer has been known since ancient time . With no reliable treatments, and with surgical outcomes often fatal, women tended to conceal the possibility of breast cancer as long as possible. With the dramatic improvement in survival rates at the end of the 19th century it was an individual by the name of William Stewart Halster as he raises long term survival rates 10% to 50%. Such lead to efforts to educate women about the importance of early detection and prompt action.
Early campaigns included the "Women's Field Army" which was run by the American Society of the Control of Cancer. They were the forerunner of American Cancer Society. Now we have a wide variety of charitable organizations that are involved in breast cancer awareness and support. The largest and most prominent are Susan G. Komen for the Cure; National Breast Cancer Coalition; states Department I'd Defense; and Breast Cancer Action.
Join callers, survivors, current patients and I as we honor and educate individuals about breast cancer. Live 10/22/18 at 12pm Pacific
