Whether I'm wearing a tailored suit, jeans and a T-Shirt or athletic wear, I'm the same person at my core. However, sometimes the clothes we wear give us the permission to bring out a part of ourselves that we normally do not express. 


There is a part of ourselves that doesn’t change with the clothes; the real YOU.

I just saw Thor, Ragnarok with my son and something that Odin says to his son caught my attention. Thor who had just lost his hammer and his long hair was distraught. He felt powerless. His father comes to him in a vision and reminds him that the hammer was not where his power resided, it was merely a point of focus for some of the power he had within him to be accessed.

Episode 17, Today I'm going to share with you how every other day I go to the gym just down the street. There are a lot of great people I get along with and say hi to every day. I get there about 5:45 in the morning and it’s packed. Yet there is this one guy who will find a flat bench or the seated row machine or the squat rack who sits down and for the next 5-10 minutes will go through his phone, texting, cueing up music or who knows what.

That got me thinking about how this applies to my life - outside of this situation.
Where am I saying I want to accomplish something, create something, change something and I am sitting in the squat rack on the phone doing something else, and those around me are waiting for me to make my move? How am I stunting my progress through my inaction after I made my intentions known. How long can I be considered a leader if I say Yes and practice no?
