Show Notes:
A lot of people I train say that they don’t have time to create blog posts and videos and podcasts and make memes for instagram, do live stories AND run their business.
What can you do?
You need to have a content strategy where you can create content for a purpose and do it once and slice it up as many ways as possible.
Repurposing content
Start with Video.
Visual portion, the audio portion and you can do a lot with that.
#1 Use any camera you can starting out. Whether it is a smartphone, webcam or any other camera you own and know how to use make it simple.
#2 be sure you have a good microphone and speak clearly (this will be very important later).
Without going into too much of a content strategy here, determine what your CORE offer is and think about how whatever you are about to create for the marketplace is going to easily and logically bridge from where your ideal prospects are at (the situation they’re stuck in) and the product, service or experience, result you offer.
If you can’t answer that question, no one else will be able to either.
So, let’s talk about your content
1. Start with video
- Upload video to Facebook
- Upload video to YouTube
- Keep it native to the platform. Both Facebook and YouTube are marketing & advertising platforms and they do not like working together.
2. Break out the Audio into a podcast
- Upload the audio to http://spreaker.com
- Spreaker syndicates to iTunes, iHeart Radio, Google Play, Stitcher, Soundcloud
and more
3. Transcribe that audio file
- Upload the .mp3 or .wav file to http://temi.com. Temi will transcribe at $.10/minute audio in about 15 minutes turn-around time.
- Do some light editing of the text to make it match what you say.
- Upload it to your YouTube video as Closed Captions - this will make everything you say searchable. It also gives YouTube more information to go off of.
- Next, do some more editing and turn it into a blog post. The average person speaks 125-150 words per minute. If you speak for 5 minutes, you have 625-750 words, which is a good length blog article.
4. Other things you can do.
- Find quotes out of what you say and turn them into a meme or graphic for instagram, twitter or facebook.
- Use your meme and your edited transcript as a post for your facebook page
- Edit a 30 second to 1 minute piece of your video highlight and put it on instagram
- Create a series of your videos or audios as a bonus or training if that makes sense.
If you keep the end in mind, you can create some amazing content that will raise your brand influence, help you become even more well known as a trusted source AND you can use your time to bring in revenue through offering the series as an opt-in or for sale.
