Presence Pioneers: A Worship, Prayer and Revival Podcast

In episode 14 Matthew Lilley gives a summary teaching on the topic of the Tabernacle of David, one of the primary topics of his personal Bible study and focus of his ministry in the last 15 years.

David, as a man after God’s own heart, is a type of Jesus Christ. David’s kingdom points to the kingdom of God. As we study David and his kingdom, we learn about Jesus and His kingdom. At the center of King David’s kingdom was David’s tabernacle, where David set the Ark of the Covenant in a tent in Jerusalem and funded over 4000 musicians and singers to minister before God with prophetic worship day & night for 33 years. What David manifested in a limited geography (Israel), Jesus will manifest on a worldwide scale.

Key Scripture: Amos 9:11, Acts 15:16-17, I Chronicles 9:33, 14:16-17, 16:1-6, 16:37-43, Psalm 27:4, 132:1-5

Every great move of God and revival in Christian history has included new songs, fresh sounds and creative expressions of worship. In episode 13, Matthew Lilley teaches about the necessity of the presence and power of the Holy Spirit in our praise & worship. Rather than simply mimicing the sounds of previous awakenings, God wants to fill the Church with His Spirit and empower us with supernatural gifts to worship in Spirit and in Truth. Let God fill you with is Spirit and sing a new song to the Lord!

David becomes King of Israel and his first priority is to bring the Ark of the Covenant into Jerusalem. David was focused on establishing the kingdom of Israel with day & night worship around God’s presence at the center.

David’s kingdom is a picture of the kingdom of God under the leadership of Jesus Christ. What does David’s priority for God’s presence tell us about the way Jesus rules His kingdom?

If you’ve ever struggled to feel God’s presence outside of church gatherings or corporate worship, then this episode is for you. If you love God but struggle to value times of corporate worship in church, then this episode is for you.

In episode 10, Matthew seeks to answer some of these questions…. What is worship? What does it mean to live a “life of worship”? And if worship is a lifestyle, then what is the value of our gathered times of singing together as the body of Christ? What is praise and how is it different than worship?

Jesus made it clear that we are to persistently ask the Father for things in prayer. If Jesus himself asks the Father for his inheritance in the nations, how much more should we ask God for His will to be done? Asking is a foundational activity of the kingdom because relationships are the essence of the kingdom.

If you have ever wanted to change the world, then you need to understand the power of intercession! This episode is a portion of a recent teaching on intercessory prayer that Matthew gave at the School of Revival in Durham, NC.

Intercession is a form of prayer where we “stand in the gap” before God on behalf of another person or group of people. As we discover God’s heart and will through intimacy with Him, we are able to partner with Him to release those purposes into the earth as we pray for His kingdom to come and His will to be done.

In our first interview episode, Matthew interviews author, speaker, ministry leader and presence pioneer David Fritch. David shares his journey of pioneering a house of prayer missions base in rural Oklahoma, and their success in gathering multiple churches in their city together for united prayer and worship. Matthew and David also discuss the Tabernacle of David, the theme of David’s book Enthroned: Bringing God’s Kingdom to Earth Through Unceasing Worship & Prayer. What is the restoration of the Tabernacle of David and what does that mean for our everyday lives?

As a third generation revivalist, David Fritch carries a rich heritage for worship, intercession and healing. David is the founder and leader of the Burn 24-7 online school: Field Training. David has been serving Burn 24-7 over 10 years and travels around the world equipping and releasing the church into Intimacy with God, dreaming, the supernatural and the Tabernacle of David. David has a practical and prophetic ministry style and is passionate about seeing people come into emotional wholeness and freedom. He currently resides in Virginia with his wife Heather and their kids.

In this episode Matthew continues to share about the new era for the global prayer movement. He recounts a recent and powerful encounter with God’s voice where the Holy Spirit highlighted a passage in Isaiah as a prophetic word for this season.

God wants to release new wine (an outpouring of His Spirit) – a fresh wave of glory, power and joy for the prayer movement. But the new wine needs new wineskins (structures and expressions) – wineskins that only give glory to God.

If we want to step into the fullness of God’s purposes then we must respond to the call to pure worship and abandonment of our idols. No more celebrity Christianity. No more worldly marketing gimmicks and building our brand. We build the brand of Jesus. It’s not about our ministry brand of affiliation; it’s about Jesus. It’s God’s glory. He will not give it to another.

After 20 years of a global explosion with day & night prayer, the global worship & prayer movement is transitioning into a new era. As Matthew shares in this episode, the major shift has been confirmed through multiple prophetic voices.

This is not just a new season, but a new era. There have been marked seasons over the last twenty years, but a new “era” indicates something much more profound. A new wave of leaders is emerging, and new wineskins and expressions will be coming forth. The core values of the prayer movement, which are biblical values, are not changing. But the prayer movement, as we have know it, will look very different in twenty years.

Matthew shares four trends that he believes will mark the next twenty years of the global prayer movement. They are…

1) “First Love” Intimacy with Jesus – Focus on the “One Thing”

2) Spiritual Family, Unity and Collaboration in the Body of Christ

3) An Increasingly Blurred Line Between “Local Church” and “House of Prayer”

4) Evangelism and Missions Flowing Out of the Furnaces of Worship & Prayer
