God is orchestrating a historic worship and prayer phenomenon on the earth in our generation. The body of Christ is looking more and more like a “house of prayer for all nations” and millions are coming to Christ. This movement has no central location and spans every denomination and culture. Loosely and unofficially known as the “prayer movement”, it is so widespread it is even difficult to track.
According to Mike Bickle, in the 80s, there were a few dozen groups organizing 24-7 prayer watches (one person at a time). There are now an estimated 20,000 groups pursuing some expression of 24-7 prayer.
In this episode, Matthew Lilley shares a snippet of a teaching on prayer that he recently gave at the School of Revival in Durham, North Carolina where he shares some of the supernatural history of the prayer movement of the last few decades. Matthew believes the modern-day prayer movement is entering into a new era, which he will discuss in upcoming episodes.

Discover the purpose and power of the nightwatch! In this episode, Matthew Lilley explores the idea of worshiping and praying during the late night and early morning hours. The specific time period between midnight and 6am is commonly called the nightwatch.
God is raising up day & night prayer across the earth, with an estimated 20,000 groups organized to pray 24/7. This requires that many people pray and worship in the middle of the night. Matthew explains how he believes God is calling even more people to engage with God during the nightwatch.
The Bible gives multiple examples of those who worshiped & prayer through the night, including Jesus himself. There’s even an entire psalm dedicated to the Levites who ministered to God during the night in David’s tabernacle.
Behold, bless the Lord, All you servants of the Lord, Who by night stand in the house of the Lord! Psalm 134

In the second podcast episode, Matthew Lilley continues in Psalm 132 and asks the question... What does it look like for God’s glory [manifest presence] to rest upon a region?
King David’s vision was not primarily about his personal breakthrough. He was longing for something to impact his city and nation. He was longing for corporate breakthrough and revival. He wanted the entire nation to experience what he had personally experienced through his personal relationship with God.
This vision caused David to to make a radical vow before God to avoid sleep until God's presence rested in his city. David was saying that he would do anything that he could to see God’s presence among His people. This is the heart of a presence pioneer.

In this first Presence Pioneers podcast episode, Matthew Lilley teaches part one on the heart of a Presence Pioneer. After briefly discussing the history of the term “presence pioneers”, Matthew dives into Psalm 132 to explore how Presence Pioneers have connected to the zeal of Jesus and it has caused them to be zealous for His presence in their lives and on the earth.
Understanding David’s longing for a dwelling place for God in Israel as expressed in Psalm 132 requires us to step back and look at David’s personal desire for God’s presence in His life and the reproach & afflictions that came along with it.
